Hi, this is my 1st time on here and i have been recommended by a friend so please be gentle with me!

Myself and my husband have been trying to conceive since may2017. I had my implant taken out in feb 2016 and we tried for a few months then but nothing.

I have been using the ela app to track my periods and ovulation and have been using ovulation kits which show i am ovulating.
We have been to the doctors today to start the ball rolling with both being checked.

I know it hasnt been long that we have been trying but i guess im starting to feel a bit shitty about it all.

I had a cancer scare at my 1st smear (aged26, im now 32) and had to have a colposcapy. I asked about pregnancy and they said it could increase the chances of a miscarriage as the lining would be weakened.
I dont smoke and am not overweight however my husband is carrying probably 2 extra stone and likes his chocolate. He doesnt smoke or drink too much he is 35. We are probably both binge drinkers once every 6 weeks.
Im not really sure what i am asking of u all or if i just feel like i am broken somehow.

Its taken me a long time to realise i want a baby (we have been together 10 years and married for 7) and now i think i know i am being impatient!

hi OP , i can't advise with the fertility because I had a surprise in that department .However I had a colpsoscopy in the past too and it made me worried when I got pregnant.
after a chat with the midwife she said she'll keep a close eye on it but I had no complications at all and a very straightforward pregnancy and vaginal birth
good luck

Hi Op

I had two colposcopy’s when I was 19/20 due to abnormal smear tests. Then I also had a biopsy. At no point did they mention that M/C were more likely. We had issues conceiving DD but not due to that and then when pregnant I had a very easy pregnancy and relatively straightforward birth.

I’ve had a pelvic scan late last year which is about 12 years after the colposcopy and there were no issues at all.

I think it’s easy to look for any reason why you might not be conceiving but remember that generally it takes the average couple a year to conceive. So try not to convince yourself that there are issues yet, it really hasn’t been that long. Although I know it feels that way.

I’d really not worry about it, even if you had a cone biopsy then this wouldn’t affect you getting pregnant as long as you’re having periods. If the cervix was weakened from a cone biopsy then it wouldn’t really cause issues until later in the pregnancy when the baby/uterus is heavy. This is why there is a small risk of giving birth early.
