Possibly pregnant due to coil failure

Has anybody become pregnant due to a misplaced coil and then had their coil expell itself whilst pregnant. As in super early on. I'm trying to match up my dates. My last 'period' was really early, but I'm not sure it was a proper period. The bleeding was light but the cramps were horrible. It wasn't until about day 4 that I realised my coil was in the wrong place and coming out. I pulled the rest of it out and the cramps and bleeding stopped almost instantly. But I haven't had a normal period since then.

I know there's no way of knowing without doing a test, I will have to buy one tomorrow. Would love to hear others stories on this!

My coil expelled itself but not due to pregnancy. I'd had it in for over a month (no periods since insertion) but then had the most horrendous cramps all night long. Honestly never had anything like it before, almost wondered if I needed to go to hospital! But then the next morning I could feel the wires sticking out really low, and reaching up I could feel the hard plastic just peeking out of my cervix.Had a little panic and rung 101 and they said they could get me an emergency appointment (but it was boxing day!) or I could just pull it out myself, no biggie.

Had another one put in straight afterwards and had no problems with it until it was removed to TTC almost 2 years on. I never had periods with the coil anyway and I know when mine fell out it was because my body decided it didn't fancy it! So I wouldn't initially panic too much about your situation, it sounds similar to mine. However there are stories out there who have conceived with the coil in place (I read somewhere that a baby was born with a Mirena sticking out of its forehead, lord knows if that was true?) so really every situation is different!

As you said, there's only one way to know for sure, so I'd say take a test and take it from there.
