Christmas and symptoms

Is anyone else annoyed at Christmas mucking up their symptom spotting?

Today is day 28 of 28 for me, so I am being hyper aware of any twinge or anything, but christmas really hasn't helped.

How can I tell if I'm bloated when I've eaten half my body weight on turkey? Am I unusually tired or is that just a sugar crash. I barely got up for 3 days, is that why my back aches?

This few days of the month is annoying enough anyway and now I'm even more out of whack!

Word of advice; don’t symptom spot any time! All the symptoms you get during your tww are nothing to do with whether you’ve conceived or not. You only get true pregnancy symptoms when you’re around 4-5 weeks pregnant. Everything before that is hormonal. So yeah, don’t stress about it too much lol

oh, how well do I know that lol! I'm looking for period symptoms or lack there of (sorry, should have made that clearer) and right now I just can not tell!

I don't think that's true bubble. I had nausea for about a week before my AF was due. I'm pregnant. I don't usually get any nausea after ovulation.

Bubblegum89 · 29/12/2017 15:26

Unfortunately it is true. Scientifically speaking. I had nausea both times at around 4 weeks when I was pregnant. Been ttc for 14 months now with no pregnancies and on one cycle, think it was month 5 or 6, I had extreme nausea after ovulation which has never happened before (except when pregnant) so of course I thought I must be pregnant. I wasn’t. I’m no scientist but it’s something to do with pregnancy hormones only having a physical effect once the placenta has developed which is around 4-5 weeks into a pregnancy. It’s why tww symptoms are a bitch.

Hmmm maybe it's a progesterone surge then?

surreygirl1987 · 29/12/2017 16:02

Yeh progesterone can apparently cause nausea. I was nauseous last month just before AF. I don't know if symptoms are real that early or not but what I do know is every time I think I've 'spotted' a new symptom... AF arrives right on cue! I guess when I eventually get a bfp I'll swear that whatever I was feeling that month was a symptom though! Saying that though some women do swear they 'know' when they're pregnant... so idk.

Sorry - I just made some a pointless non-contribution to this thread 😂

@surreygirl1987 you're so funny chick!

I have to admit I'm with you here op I had a great Christmas and though it was some distraction I'm going into 2018 thinking that 2017 wasn't my year afterall and honestly that is hard to accept. Everyone symptom spots so don't beat yourself up....and go for thay extra pigs in blanket....as if you are eating for two.....i suppose the diet has to start next week haha!!

TheFlame · 30/12/2017 11:18

I love non-contributions just as much as contributions lol.
cramps and spotting have hit right on schedule, and those are hard to confuse. I still wish earlier signs of impending period weren't so easily masked though.

I've been so nauseated this last two weeks and off my food. It's just pms unfortunately. Sorry op. My af arrived today and I had some real strong twinges and tweaks too. I'd wait til af is due and if you're late take a test. Sending positive vibes xxx
