Hello everyone.

I'm 35, trying for about a year, FSH, AMH, Progesterone all perfect. 28 day cycle. Ovu day 14. DH sperm normal.

I spot 5-6 days before AF arrives shortening my LP to 8-9 days. My periods are very painful as well as Ovulation. My fertility specialist has requested a Laparoscopy as she thinks I have Endo symptoms (no pain during or after sex- thank god) and they see an ovary now adhered to my uterus (wasn't like that 5 months ago). It also hurts a lot to pass poop in the lead up to AF. I’ve spoken to the Endo surgeon and he said that a short LP isn’t anything to worry about, doesnt make a difference and that it’s a thing of the past…. ??

My question is, can your progesterone drop too fast? It’s 49.80 on day 21 (normal). Should I ask to have it checked on day 23? My GP is fantastic and she doesn’t seem to think it’s an issue either. The surgeon now wants to do a Hysteroscopy with the LAP to check my lining, which BTW is great up until the dreaded brown spotting! I have had it since I came off the pill 6 years ago, but the pain associated with Ovulation and AF has gotten a lot worst over the past few years. Could the spotting be Endo?

Has anyone else had this spotting and gotten pregnant with normal progesterone? Happy to try vitex (although I am regular) but I read it can lengthen the LP? Anyone had success of this? Also Vit B6? I read it doesn’t really make a different, not does the cream.

I feel apprehensive to have the LAP if all that’s the issue is a shorter LP? But do you all think it’s best to have it anyway, to see about the endo? Anyone reading this have Endo?

Thanks so much!

Help me!

Some types of the pill are used to manage endo, so that might explain why your symptoms have become progressively worse. I was put on cerazette at one point to manage mine. The hormones inhibit the spread of the endo so when you stop taking the pill it starts spreading.

I had a lap a few years ago to diagnose endo- it isn't really that bad as far as operations go. My consultant had a good look around and reported back on the general health of ovaries etc as well as removing as much of the endo as he could.

I have endo and struggled with fertility. I had a laparoscopy earlier this year. I was then lucky enough to get pregnant the first month trying after the surgery. To me, the opportunity to have such operation was a blessing ...but I've been trying to get someone to take my endo seriously for 12 years, so for me it was a relief.

But it doesn't sound as though shorter LP is the only issue for you as you also mentioned painful periods, painful ovulation, painful toileting, spotting and adhered ovary.

If they do the lap and everything comes back fine then hey that's great - no harm done but if they do find something then at least you'll know and will be able to come up with a plan.
