Anovulatory cycle?

Hi ladies,

This is the first month tracking my temp and my cycle is fairly regular 27/28 days. I had pos opks on cd 10,14 and 17 with no spike in temp. My temp oscillates between 36.0-36.5C. I have hypothyroidism and wondering if this is normal? Could I be having an anovulatory cycle? I'm not ttc yet, but just trying to understand my cycle.
I'm slightly disheartened even before trying to ttc. 😔 Is it an estrogen progesterone problem? I'm lost.

Hi if there isn't a spike it might be a progesterone problem that is what spikes which causes your temp to increase post ovulation, because your very early days I would say just keep on tracking your cycles and if it keeps on happening speak to a GP.

When are you checking your temp? Is it the same time every day etc things can effect effect your temp which in turn would effect reliability.

I keep checking the same time every day. I temp vaginally. My opks between 1-3pm and try to get my pee as conc as possible. How many cycles before I make an appointment?

I would give it a further two cycles and if your getting the same thing just ask for your hormones levels to be checked I.e fsh, lh, progesterone, oestrogen, prolactin and testosterone , you have to be a year trying before referral to fertility but it might just be that your hormones are adjusting sometimes it takes time.

Have you been on any contraception? As that effects hormone levels

Filzma · 12/12/2017 11:35

Thank you so much. Pull out and condoms for contraception. I'll keep charting and see how it goes. Thank you. Hopefully I'll remember to update because the frustration with such thread is someone in future might have the same problem and doesn't know what ever happened to the OP.
