Been trying a while. Had a night out last night so thought I'd do an out of date (by 2 years) digi and was on CD28 (usually have 29-30 day cycle but last month was randomly 24). No idea when I ovulated as I was trying, unsuccessfully, to not try to hard. (We had to have IVF for Dc1 - male factor, dc2 was a natural when not trying).

Anyway, broke open the "not pregnant" digi as was curious to how they worked. Does anyone actually know?
There were 2 strips. One with a faint Line, one with a strong (presumably control) line and a light blue line. I know they work differently to normal tests but was wondering how? The second line on the bottom was really light but had it been a Normal test it would have definitely been classed as positive.

The two lines on a digi do not mean pregnant. Sorry.

Try a frer if you want to be sure, but the inside of digitals aren't like normal tests.

Ah ok. Didn't think so but thought it worth asking. Thank you

There are two separate strips inside a digital, a high sensitivity and a low sensitivity one. They also measure more than one hormone. The darkness of the lines inside is then "measured" by a sensitive diode to make the pregnant/not pregnant determination

They function totally differently to tests designed to be read visually, which only measure HCG, and can't be read visually at all.
