Going insane!! BFP/Miscarriage

Albuspotterdumbledore · 24/11/2017 15:12

I had a BFP on 14/11 and posted it on here for clarity (pic 1)

I started to bleed that weekend, it was heavy and I had cramps so naturally assumed it was a chemical pregnancy but I was still having BFP (pic 2)

Bleeding stopped on Tuesday. Obviously now is Friday and I have just had my strongest BFP to date. (Pic 3)

I have been to the doctor who told me bleeding means miscarriage and to just accept it basically.

But should my tests be getting stronger? I know I’m probably torturing myself but I read that you shouldn’t TTC again until you had a negative test?!

Anyone been in the same situation or can provide insight? Thanks in advance!!

Yes Saturday they were Sainsbury's but I've also had positives on clear blue digital, says 1-2 weeks and now an Asda cheapy.

EPU closed at 12:15 so going to call them first thing in the morning.

Tempted to call the out of hours service but worried about being fobbed off again.

I really hope you get seen tomorow, how heavy was the bleed, and how long did it last?

SaturdaySauv · 26/11/2017 18:23

Ah- hope you get it sorted out soon Flowers

Albuspotterdumbledore · 27/11/2017 09:33

Quick update - local EPU doesn't accept self referral I need my gp to send me over. So we're just going to pay for an early scan locally, who don't open until 10am. So will be ringing them and getting an appointment ASAP as I cannot handle the unknown.

It seems like so many obstacles to just get some bloody answers!

Be a bit picky about who you get your early scan from. Those baby bond type outfits aren’t I think staffed by consultants and when I have had ectopics / MCs I’ve found sonographers pretty unwilling to get off the fence and diagnose (maybe they aren’t allowed to). 2 consultants diagnosed my second ectopic, and another one confirmed my DD was in the right place at just over 4 weeks.
I’ve just had a shock BFP so will be getting an early scan myself, but will be seeing the consultant who runs my local EPAU privately for it (purely so I don’t have a 4 hour wait when I should be at work). I’d check with the provider that they do early scans (before 6 weeks - not all of them do). It might be worth trying your GP again if not.

Good luck.

itshappening · 27/11/2017 10:30

I think the GP just needs to sign a form which if you can speak to them on the phone they may be willing to do and leave it at reception for you. It may be quicker just to go private though.

FutureFairyCrayon · 27/11/2017 12:59

You've probably already been for your scan, but you'd be much better off going to your EPU rather than a private scan place. If the scan shows something amiss, you'll have to go to the EPU anyway.

I do hope it's all ok for you, being in limbo during early pregnancy is very tough.

Albuspotterdumbledore · 27/11/2017 16:51

Ok I have another update. So I did a clear blue digital on Friday which said 1-2.

I've just done another now (attached)

My HCG levels appear to be increasing. This shouldn't be happening right?

I've got an appointment at tomorrow at the EPU so please keep everything crossed for a happy update!!

Still desperately trying to remain neutral on this.

You're doing really well, so hard trying to temper your expectations and stay 'neutral'. Impossible really, but I guess the trick is not to get too carried away with any one possible outcome. Wishing you the very best for tomorrow.

unhingedtoday · 27/11/2017 17:04

🤞

Albuspotterdumbledore · 27/11/2017 17:06

Thank you!

Am I wrong in thinking my BFP's shouldn't be getting darker or increasing in weeks? I'm afraid I'm trying to find a glimmer of hope and need pulling back down to earth. Confused

NimbleKnitter · 27/11/2017 17:18

It should be happening if you have a uterine pregnancy.

Generally with ectopic, the hcg rises more slowly, so this could be a good thing.

Best not second guess it though - wait for your scan

RaeCJ82 · 27/11/2017 17:18

I really hope that this isn't the case OP but I think levels can increase if all pregnancy tissue hasn't been passed or if it's an ectopic pregnancy. You really should be referred for a scan.

FML2017 · 27/11/2017 17:26

With my last miscarriage, a day after the bleeding started my tests had gotten very very faint, and were really slow to get darker before that, took longer than it should have to get from 1-2 to 2-3 weeks. Good luck! X

SaturdaySauv · 27/11/2017 17:29

Best of luck for tomorrow OP Flowers

Emz01 · 27/11/2017 19:41

Good luck for tomorrow OP! Signs are definitely looking good so far so really hope you get some positive news tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you!

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 27/11/2017 19:54

Good luck tomorrow OPThanks

Addictedtothisbloodyforum · 27/11/2017 20:00

Good luck op

MrsDoyleFallingOutTheWindow · 28/11/2017 08:41

Yes good luck OP. So glad you are finally being seen.

Albuspotterdumbledore · 28/11/2017 18:32

Update! I went for the scan today and they couldn't see anything. The midwife wasn't sure why I was getting positive tests and said I may have ovulated late into my cycle and it was too early to see. She said with the clear blue 2-3 result they wouldn't expect to see anything on the scan this early.

So she took my bloods today and I have a HCG level of 600. She asked me to go back in two days and see if they have doubled. So even though I've got some update not much really. Just hoping they double now and it was just too early for anything to come on the scan.

Oh and if they don't double they've got to find the pregnancy apparently because it's there just not sure where at the moment. Confused

Surprisingly I'm feeling much more hopeful now. Just keeping everything crossed.

Thanks for all the well wishes and thanks for giving me an outlet as DH wants to keep this between us at the moment.

Hi OP, glad you managed to get seen by EPU, really hope you get some good news in a couple of days! 600 HCG sounds promising, I remember being told that they would expect to see something on a scan when it reaches 1500 which might explain why you didn’t see anything today. Got my fingers crossed for you!

FML2017 · 28/11/2017 19:30

That's good, at least you'll know one way or the other in a couple of day - even if it isn't the news you want it's better than being in limbo for god knows how long

LostMyBaubles · 28/11/2017 22:09

Glad you went epu

Appuskidu · 28/11/2017 22:17

Glad you got an appointment:)

itshappening · 28/11/2017 23:54

Well, I guess no one said it would be easy....! So glad you went and I really hope it is a case of late ovulation, whatever happens though at least you are being monitored now. Hang in there!
