Cysts on ovary? What does that mean?!

My DD is 1 so we’ve never prevented and only been properly trying a few months. However since she was born I’ve had excruciating pain mid cycle around ovulation, followed by vomiting and cramping for days. I also get really heavy & painful periods (always have done). I went for a scan as suggested by my gp, the sonographer mentioned I have cysts on my right ovary which is the side I get the pain each month.
She said that I’d need to speak to my gp to see what action she wants to take but there’s not a large cyst to worry about it’s just several.

Is this normal? I’m freaking out a little bit because I didn’t have a great time ttc before my DD and had a mmc at 13 weeks. If you couldn’t guess already I have really bad anxiety, especially everything to do with ttc and pregnancy, so I know I’m probably worrying over nothing.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I had some cysts on my ovaries last year, I had pain and irregular bleeding for a while, I had scans and then check ups to make sure they weren't getting any worse.. They disappeared on their own when I went for my 2nd scan. I'd say just keep on with your GP and try not to panic xx

Thank you for your reply @Lululabelle I’ll hopefully have more info when I see my gp. Fingers crossed they go away on their own! Xx

I have no personal experience but my mum has always suffered from cysts in her ovaries and womb, and managed to conceived myself and my sister. Good luck x
