Stopped taking mini pill (Desogestrel) and wondering if I am pregnant?

Hi there.

Six weeks ago I stopped taking the Desogestrel Mini Pill because my husband and I wanted a baby. For the first month we were at it like rabbits every couple of days, but for the past two weeks we’ve rarely done it as I’ve been feeling unwell.

About five weeks ago I started getting cramps, and they’ve been continuous nearly every day. However, I’ve now got a whole boat load of symptoms at the moment. I’m exhausted (I can sleep for 11hrs and still be shattered), I’m suffering with really bad lower back pain, I’ve been getting headaches and feeling nauseous, the cramps are still there, my boobs are killing me (started out with my left nipple but now my whole boob, and the right one is starting too), and yesterday I noticed that my girls are turning into a road map for blue veins.

My period has been no show, and on Saturday the 25th November it will have been six weeks since I came off the mini pill. I did a pregnancy test this morning and it came back negative. I’m scared to go to the doctors for blood tests as I have PTSD due to a traumatic event in childhood that includes needles. Doctors also do not do pregnancy tests at my surgery. I’m also scared there’s something else wrong with me.

What is the chances of me actually being pregnant and needing to wait a little longer to do a test? Any ideas/advice would be greatly welcome. Thank you :)

Generally pregnant enough for symptoms means pregnant enough for a positive test.

It's probably your hormones shifting as you withdraw from the Pill.
