Faint positive the next day?

Ok so this is very confusing and a bit complicated!

I have an 8 month old baby and I am still breastfeeding lots even though he does have some solids. I have not had a period yet. A few days ago I started to have similar pregnancy symptoms as before and felt very bloated, spotting after sex and also my little one has been very fussy when feeding. I have some nursing aversion too the last week. Anyway I decided to test last night as although I haven't really had much sex, we have only been using withdrawal method (I was on mini pill but horrendous side affects plus we were hoping to start trying again when our little one is around 1).

I took the test, looked negative but then my little one started crying so shoved it in cupboard (bin is downstairs). Never thought anymore about it then went to get nail varnish remover from cupboard and picked up test to bin. Then I noticed what I think is a faint line?? Can anyone see it?

Is the test in valid if its the next day? I have no idea if/when I could have ovulated. I don't have anymore tests and not sure if I should even bother although I got very faint positives until about 5/6 weeks with my last pregnancy and didn't test until a few days after period was due. Can this be positive? Does it even look positive or am I imagining things? Anyone had any similar experiences?

I hope I've attached the images ok.

Thanks for reading xx

I would say repeat it but it looks like a positive to me.
How would you feel about that?

Waitingonasmile · 22/11/2017 19:09

If the test has been left a long time I would take absolutely nothing from this result. It may or may not actually be a positive but you definitely need a brand new test to be sure.

I would be a bit overwhelmed/shocked as it would mean a pretty short age gap but I would calm down and see it as a blessing. We lost our first baby so a healthy baby would always be a blessing I think even unexpected. Maybe a stressful one especially as I'm still not getting much sleep! xx

My past negatives have it developed a line even hours later and the times they have come up later I have always been pregnant. You need to test again and time when the line comes up.

Bit of an update! I double checked the box and it had another test in it so I took that about an hour ago and it was negative and still is. Thinking maybe the first ones just been a dodgy test but will try and pick up pink dye one tommorow as I now seem to have lots of CM and don't usually get much esp when breastfeeding so will do a couple more tests over the next few days xx

Tests are always considered invalid after a certain amount of time so the only way to be sure is to test again and only consider the result that shows within the correct time.

Tests are invalid after 10 minutes. If you’re worried you’re pregnant, you need to take another test and read it in the time frame
