Hi Everyone

I came off Microgynon back in Sept, had my withdrawal bleed smack bang on time. Period came 38 days later. Now on CD 35 waiting for my next period. Am I still in early stages of things settling down? ! ?

Thanks

I do feel ovulation strips early pregnancy testing all of that just made me obsessive so now I have decided no more early pregnancy testing no ovulation strips etc just track my cycles have sex on a regular basis and if my period is late by a week then do a pregnancy test save myself from feeling miserable 🙂.

Bless you, you sound very focussed about things so I’m sure you’ll get your positive result very soon.

Thank you so much for all the fantastic advice. In all honesty I’m taking the AC and Starflower oil to feel as though I’m doing something to help. I’ll continue taking the rest of the bottle, then I’ll see how I’m feeling.

Again with the OV sticks I got them purely to see if things were “working” down there ha ha. But I know ovulation can take a while to resume,, so in hindsight probs a waste of money!

I have recently had therapy for anxiety (not baby related) and feel I’ve overcome such a big hurdle with that. I fear this whole process is going to set me back again :-(

@Kate8989 I think just try and relax about it don’t get too stressed I know easier said then done but if you suffer from anxiety anyway there is no point making your self unhappy/ stressed about it just know it’s normal your cycles being off and it takes time lots of people have the same thing after the pill.
I have my fingers crossed for you xx

Hey!

I was on Yasmin for 10 years and came off in January. Had my withdrawal bleed but then nothing until March, then June, then August and despite me pushing for blood and hormone tests from the doctor (especially as I'm a type one diabetic, so helps to plan things carefully) they assured me it was normal and could take up to a year to even out.

It's only after one year they do exploratory tests and even then you have to sort of know when to go for them (as it's ovulation time). They didn't quite grasp the fact that it was distressing for me as a healthy woman has 12 opportunities a year to conceive but I only had 5-6?

Someone told me that Manganese (from Holland and Barrett) inadvertently helped them with fertility, and low and behold that was the month I fell pregnant (I MC very early on but still I know I could get pregnant!!) I take one tablet every other day/ 3 days and make my partner take one and then when you fall pregnant stop....

Also I started taking lots of omega3 and vitamin D so perhaps this helped too?

So there's definitely hope... I ovulate every month now and a period isn't as awful, as I'm grateful my body is getting back to normal. My cycles are on average longer (45 days?) but always improving.

Private tests and scans can be done but cost a lot... keep GPS to their word of 1 year!

The pill is a very strong hormone and if I'd have known the true effects on my body as a young girl I'd have stopped taking it much much sooner and used alternative contraceptive methods!! X

You may not be referred to fertility till after a year you have been trying but your GP will still do hormonal tests so you can at least know if your levels are ok my GP also did a scan this was before I was referred, so I would just ask your GP if they will just do a hormonal screen I.e FSH,LH, oestrogen, progesterone , testosterone and prolactin.
When I was referred to fertility they did lots more bloods but those are your basic ones to check and if it will help at all might be worth asking. Xx

My cycles were okay after coming off microgynon but I miscarried a few months later and it completely messed up my cycles. I went for acupuncture and within a few weeks I was ovulating mid-cycle and consistently 28 days between periods.

Kate8989 · 22/11/2017 17:49

Cracklesfire and KAH09 im really sorry to hear you have been through a miscarriage. I cannot imagine how hard that must have been.

Thanks also for the advice on the acupuncture, herbal remedies. I had read so many amazing things about AC that I thought it would work miracles for me but not yet!

My anxiety has been sky high this week, palpataions and everything. I’m such a worrier, I won’t rest until AF arrives. I’m adamant I’m not pregnant so will just have to wait for AF 😔
