Hey!
I was on Yasmin for 10 years and came off in January. Had my withdrawal bleed but then nothing until March, then June, then August and despite me pushing for blood and hormone tests from the doctor (especially as I'm a type one diabetic, so helps to plan things carefully) they assured me it was normal and could take up to a year to even out.
It's only after one year they do exploratory tests and even then you have to sort of know when to go for them (as it's ovulation time). They didn't quite grasp the fact that it was distressing for me as a healthy woman has 12 opportunities a year to conceive but I only had 5-6?
Someone told me that Manganese (from Holland and Barrett) inadvertently helped them with fertility, and low and behold that was the month I fell pregnant (I MC very early on but still I know I could get pregnant!!) I take one tablet every other day/ 3 days and make my partner take one and then when you fall pregnant stop....
Also I started taking lots of omega3 and vitamin D so perhaps this helped too?
So there's definitely hope... I ovulate every month now and a period isn't as awful, as I'm grateful my body is getting back to normal. My cycles are on average longer (45 days?) but always improving.
Private tests and scans can be done but cost a lot... keep GPS to their word of 1 year!
The pill is a very strong hormone and if I'd have known the true effects on my body as a young girl I'd have stopped taking it much much sooner and used alternative contraceptive methods!! X
