Raised ths when ttc

I've just had a routine blood test and my tsh result came back at 5.7. We're currently ttc no 3, and I've read that ideally it should be below 2. I've got a telephone consultation with the GP tomorrow to discuss. Just wondering if I should try to get medicated to lower the level? His suggestion was to repeat the test in 3 months. I would've been fine with this if not ttc as don't have any hypothyroidism symptoms. Thanks Smile

You are right can cause problems have you a family history? Are your cycles regular?x

Thanks cookie, no family history and my cycles are pretty regular, maybe vary by a day or two occasionally. I don't have any symptoms so am loathe to take meds really, but am also worried about increasing risk of miscarriage if we do manage to conceive.........guess I'll see what the GP says, but I've heard they're pretty reluctant to prescribe.

With that level and no symptoms I doubt a prescription is needed just get them repeated in 3 months sometimes they go back to normal xx

If it wasn't for the increased risk of miscarriage I would just forget about it for 3 months. But if we manage to conceive then I'll be a bit worried about the raised level.
