Hi so this is my second one in 3 month period I know to some people that’s not a lot but it’s hard to deal with, first one happened very early and this second one I was 3.5 weeks pregnant I just wanted a bit of advice on a few things;

  1. Any tips on dealing with this?.
  2. If anyone has had one before how long does it take for your cycle to get back to normal?
  3. Advice on future testing when do people do that first pregnancy test as I tend to early tests which in turn makes me crazy?

It’s so hard to deal with 😟

I just wanted to say that when I was at the docs for my current pregnancy she was surprised I wasn’t told to wait at least 3 months after the first loss as it made a second loss more likely. Not sure how true that is but I would’ve saved myself some heartache had I waited.

This is not true, at all. It is an old wives' tale that some doctors still believe. I was told that by one of the country's leading experts on recurrent miscarriage (Siobhan Quenby). It wasn't your fault you miscarried again, and it isn't anyone else's fault if they miscarry twice in quick succession. Nor does it mean a pregnancy conceived quickly after loss is less likely to succeed. Please don't feel you did something wrong.

......I was told that by one of the country's leading experts on recurrent miscarriage (Siobhan Quenby).....

Wondering if you are local to me as she was my Consultant for my most recent pregnancy...

No, I'm not - I went to the specialist recurrent miscarriage she runs and travelled some distance to it (though apparently not that far in the range of patients they get - someone else seen the same day as me had travelled from Scotland).

Yeh I have heard lots of rubbish about waiting etc it’s not more likely at all my fertility clinic just said continue to try she only said delay if emotionally I find it too hard, at the end of the day it’s hit or miss and hopefully eventually it will stick one thing I will do next time is; 1. Not test early.

  1. Not tell a single person until I know it’s more safe. 😊
