So, is Fertility Friend wrong about my period? Help please!

So. My cycles are usually 27 days long with a luteal phase of 13 days, meaning I ovulate on day 15. However this month I didn't ovulate until day 18. If my luteal phase stays the same length, which I assume it would (?), then my period would be due 3 days later than usual, making my cycle 30 days long this month.

But Fertility Friend has kept my cycle at 27 days for some reason and so it's predicting my period tomorrow, which would make my luteal phase quite short this month.

Am I right in thinking that my period is actually due on Sunday??

There's only one way to find out! (Or fingers crossed AF won't come at all and the whole thing will remain an unsolved mystery)

I use glow and FF. Glow is predicting AF on Saturday and FF a week tomorrow. I think glow is spot on given my current rumblings and desire to eat all the carbs within a 10 mile radius. Both had me ovulating on the same date (2 weeks ago on saturday) which I agree with.

The reason glow is more accurate for me is that I've been using it longer, it has better data. If your period comes tomorrow then log it and next month it will know more about your cycle. In the short time I've been doing this I've realised it's an art as well as a science, if things were predictable we'd all be upduffed before the month was out Grin

That's really interesting, thank you. I was under the impression that luteal phases generally stayed the same length!

I would say that FF is not changing because this is the first time your cycle has changed so it doesn't know what your body is going to do. It is one of the few apps that does fairly accurately predict cycles, but it needs several to go on and if this is a one off cycle it won't know yet to change. If your period arrives on Sunday, which I agree with you is probable, then FF will know for next time.

I used ff and found it so much better than the others but in the end it's still a rough calculation and can never be perfect. My LP used to vary from 9-15 days and my doc said that wasn't unusual.

Could also be that you've not been using it long enough to get to know your cycles or maybe could do with more information put in?

Good luck!

Yes, it could be that it has naturally varied and I didn't know. I've been tracking my cycle for four months so far, but this is the first month I've used FF and I must admit I really like it.
