Long story cut kind of short... I just got back from DR and have been told that it's likely that I have PCOS.
Myself & my partner are planning for pregnancy and I originally went to the DR for irregular periods after going 4 months without a period (I was never any good at tracking them but that's the longest amount of time i've been without one). I was sent for a full blood test which DR said at the time came back "normal" then coincidently my period made an appearance!
So after going back to the DR she sent me for a 21 day progesterone blood test on day 21 of my cycle. I was worried that day 21 was not the right day to go considering I was still bleeding on day 16 & I don't know when my next period is so how do I know that's the right time to check I ovulated?! But I went anyway and just got back from DR to speak about the results. It was a locum DR not my normal one as she is on holiday and I feel like she didn't break it down to me she just told me what was what but was very vague in-between mumbling. She said my progesterone levels were less than 2 which means I did not ovulate, and testosterone was a little high? She said it was likely to be PCOS but I am being sent for an abdominal and transvaginal scan to confirm and that was that.
The first thing I think of when I hear that I may have PCOS was that I will not be able to have children, when really, I know it's not true. I know it's possible, and thats why the first thing I have done is come on here as I want to hear your success stories.
