New to mumsnet - hello everyone!

I've just had my mirena coil taken out (last Friday) so that, when I know when AF comes to town, my husband and I can start TTC. However, true to form, my timing hasn't worked out so well as some quite stressful things are happening in the family right now. I won't go into it but basically it's in my face all the time (possibly a story for another thread!). It's keeping me up a lot worrying and there's a lot going on at work too which is an added bonus! I'm not saying I've invented stress by any means, I know it can be a lot worse, but I just want to do something about it now to minimise any possible affects!!

I know that stress can keep AF at bay and also cause problems with conception so I'm wondering if anyone has any top tips for reducing or managing stress that are free/cheap and ACTUALLY work? I'd google strsss relief tips but would love to hear recommendations that have helped people in real life!

Thanks everyone in advance! X

Walking. I just put on my headphones and start pavement pounding.

An hour later and I've forgotten what was bothering me.

It's also stealth exercise :)

Excellent, this is a bit of a kill two birds with one stone solution which I always love! I am SO glad you said walking and not running though Grin thank you!

Listen to audio books when you go to sleep. Stops your mind from going into over drive when trying to relax to sleep. Get enough sleep where possible. I suffer with stress and this has really helped me. Yoga is great too or any sort of gentle exercise. I found accupuncture very useful but know this can be expensive

Love the audiobooks idea, and yoga. I have got one of those mindfulness colouring books somewhere at home I got bought for Xmas but never have time for!! Perhaps I should timetable a bit of time to myself for a bit. Thank you everyone for the help x
