Coming off implant and ttc...?

I came off the implant in December 2016. My periods went back to normal straight away and were as regular as they always were. The only thing that was different was I didn't get any ewcm around ovulation like I used to before and while on the implant, I would only get lots of thin and clear watery cm. 10 months has past since we started ttc and I've had no luck yet. Except this month, I got a lot of ewcm around ovulation. I don't know if this is anything? 99% of people I know who came off the implant has no trouble getting pregnant straight away because the hormones come out of your system straight away (or so my gp told me anyway) Am I clutching at straws thinking that despite my periods coming back straight away, that my hormones might have been a bit unbalanced and have now rebalanced themselves hence the random appearance of ewcm after so long?

It took me over a year after the implant to get pregnant, but I also know someone that got pregnant within a few months, hope this helps x

I don't know the answers sorry but I'm
In the same boat. Implant removal 2 week ago ttc now. Cycles are all over the place. Good luck and baby dust. Xx

I got caught straight away after having it out unfortunately it was ectopic. X

It isn't that 99% get pregnant straight away but that they don't differ from the baseline population - who have all the normal complications and timescales. You are still in the normal range but getting near the time you will be offered basic blood tests. You can also use ovulation sticks if you are worried, might put your mind at rest, good luck.

I got pregnant 29 days after having implant out, I appreciate I was lucky though

I had my implant taken out in OCtober 2016, we started TTC in February, and I got pregnant immediately. I used OPK because my cycles were off, and my periods were light. My cycles were 3 weeks, then 4, then 5 weeks before I conceived. I think it does take time. One of my friends went off it, and it took 2 cycles for her to get pregnant.

Hi OP - I did get pregnant 5 months after having my implant removed and the GP seemed to be very shocked by this. Made a few comments about how quick it was after removal, and seemed quite surprised. So perhaps the 10 month mark isn't too long at all.

I have absolutely no knowledge apart from my own though.

Hi.

I had my plant removed in November & still ttc! They said fertility would resume straight away but that's just not true. It was a few mo the before I noticed ewcm despite getting positive OPKs and then it wasn't much. More recently it has increased again so here's hoping! AF due tomorrow!

I'm getting so fed up to be honest!! I wish more people were open about how hard it actually is to get pregnant! I know there are some flukes but it's way harder than I thought!!

Thanks for your replies ladies :) a thread on a fb group I'm on about implant removal, out of about 40 ladies I was the only one who hadn't fallen pregnant within 3 months! But I guess that isn't necessarily always the case, I'm just worried something else is wrong.

As for the ewcm, I know that it is the result of elevated estrogen levels so not getting it might suggest my oestrogen levels were too low but now I'm getting it again they're back up and this might be due to the implant somehow? I can't think of any other reasons why it went awol for 9 months and google is no help at all lol

Although my periods came back regular straight away (I can basically pinpoint it almost to the hour) they seem much lighter/shorter than they were before. Tending to last 2-3 days with one heavy day then 1-2 days of spotting which is mostly brown. I've had a d&c and I'm paranoid about scar tissue as infertility and short/light/nonexistent periods are the main symptoms. I'm naturally a hypochondriac so I keep jumping up worst case scenario!

twistedsister oh I hope af doesn't show tomorrow! The ewcm thing is weird isn't it. I've had none whatsoever in 9 months and I always used to get it. When I saw it this month I was so excited haha never thought I'd be excited to see mucus. And I agree, massive kudos to the women who stick it out for years ttc because I'm only 10 months in and find it so upsetting when af shows up time and time again :(

I had my period 😫

They came back fairly regularly as you said and I'm definitely ovulating as get positive OPKs.

I have an appointment in 2 weeks to discuss ttc. I'm 33 in a few weeks so times ticking by.
