Best Fertility App linked to Thermometer

Hi, first time dipping my toe in here!

I am 35 will be coming off the pill next month to TTC. I have been looking at apps linked to Thermometers by bluetooth and wondered if anyone had experience and could provide a good recommendation. Technology on this seems to be changing rapidly and would be good to hear recent experiences.

So far I have seen Natural Cycles, Kindara, Daysy (extremely pricey!), Femometer (Amazon).

Also I will be coming off the pill having been on it half my life how long before an app will start picking up ovulation given it could take 6 months + for my cycle to return, so should I start using an app straight away or wait until I get a regular period.

Thank you in advance, after years of trying to prevent pregnancy slightly terrified about making the switch over to the TTC side!

I use kindara and their wink thermometer (£120 I think) and I love it. It doesn't wake my man up and synchs automatically.

Also, start temping straight away. You'll learn so much about your body!

Have you looked at the ovusense sensor that links to the ovusense app ? Takes your basal temp every 5 mins whilst you sleep and predicts ovulation.

I've got no idea about the linked thermometers- they sound great!- but I'd say just start temping straight away, so you'll get into the daily habit.

I started temping a year ago & gave up after a month or two.
Then started up again last month after reading 'Taking charge of your fertility' which has completely changed my views on temping/following my cycle.

I find it reassuring to see the sustained temp rise & pretty much pinpoint the day I ovulated.

Also I too was on the pill for a good 15 years or so, came off it aged 34 and conceived straight away, same thing happened last year aged 37- so it's not always the case that it'll take ages post-pill!

Good luck

Thank you so much for your advice ladies!

Peanutty _ I will definitely start the temping right as soon as I come off the pill.

Home from work late - I hadn't heard of OvuSense but I like the look of it (although a little put off by the price!) I think I will look into it if things aren't moving in the right direction after 6 months of properly charting! Did it work well for you?

Turquoise Dress - Taking charge of your fertility is on my to read list, it seems to come highly recommended! You were so lucky to get pregnant so quickly! I would be so surprised if it happened quickly for me as I am convinced it will take ages given "my age" (thanks scary news articles!). Saying that my mum had me at 35 and my grandma had my mum (her first) at 40 so who knows!

I've been using kindara for past 17 cycles. I love it! I've learned so much about my body. Also noticed pretty quickly that something was up with my cycles.... long, irregular etc. And that I was not getting a temp rise. Turned out after lots of testing that I had a prolactinoma. Dostinex weekly sorted it out and now see regular rises 👍😊 use the wink (their thermometer 🤒) and find it so helpful!
