Are false positives common?

I'm only 19 but I skip my periods occasionally so I wasn't that worried when I missed mines last month. I have skipped 2 in a row in the past but since I'm 5 days late again this month I thought I might as well take a test even though I always use condoms. I'm a uni student and since I've already bought my textbooks for this semester I only had enough money to buy a cheapie £1 test. The first one was invalid but I think it was because I didn't pee on it long enough. The second one came out positive. The box says it only has 90% accuracy and I don't really have enough money to buy one of the 99% accurate ones (I'm down to £20 for food for the rest of the month). Are false positives common? Is there a service in the east end of Glasgow that does pregnancy tests for free? I know that the sexual health clinic in the west end does them but that's a 5 mile walk from where I am and I don't really want to waste money on a train or bus journey.

Go to your GP or student health service?

I think by the accuracy result it means it's not so sensitive and would show a false negative. False positives aren't common. You can get indent lines/evap lines but they're colourless. If it looked properly positive within the right timeframe you're almost certainly pregnant

Do you have a pic of the test? X

Go to ur gp for a test, I had a false positive last week and I know a few other people who have also had false positives, best to get checked out to make sure x

Is this useful OP? List of sexual health clinics across Glasgow:

You could get it done at GP surgery too. Good luck :)
