Hi ladies, if I had a positive OPK yesterday (CD18) should we still be DTD today / tomorrow?

I thought so, but FF says my fertile window is over now so I guess not?

Thank you

Following with interest. I had a positive on internet cheapies yesterday and day before. Really not sure, after the marathon of dtd every day since last week whether I can be bothered it is worth one last shot so to speak today.

We have only done it for the last 2 days so havent really put enough effort in. DH was t interested before work this morning and we won't have a chance tonight so we are prob out of the game this month Sad

The 5 days prior to ovulation are your most fertile so lots of DTD in the lead up to a positive OPK should be the aim.

Once your egg is released I think there I don't only a 12 hour window for it to be fertilised before it dies so there needs to be sperm already waiting for it in the Fallopian tubes.

I read somewhere that when a man ejaculates it takes 6-8 hours for the sperm to reach the Fallopian tubes hence why just DTD on the day of ovulation isn't always enough as there's still a chance the ovum will have died by the time the sperm reaches it.

However, the day you get your positive OPK means ovulation is imminent, not necessarily that it's happening now. You would normally ovulate 24-48 hours after getting a positive OPK so DTD that day and the day afterwards is advised.

I'm here typing one handed whilst trying to console a crying 3 week old baby who was conceived as a result of only DTD on the day of my positive OPK.
