Tips and tricks for getting through the last week of the 2ww?

Hi all,

I'm looking if anyone has any tips for getting through the last week of the 2ww? Or, really, just want to have a moan about how crap the wait is?

AF is due in six days, and I'm wary of taking one of those early pregnancy tests... It's felt like the past week has taken forever to pass. It's DH's and my first time TTC, and I'm being a bit impatient about the whole process! I really need to work on my waiting game.

Me too! I've only tested twice so far Grin

I was very busy this weekend so it didn't cross my mind, be busy seems to be the thing.

That's true - it does seem easier when my day's full, but it seems like it's almost in the back of my mind!

Good luck with your future tests, though. Here's hoping for a BFP Wink

I'm the same, AF due either Sat or Sun so I'm either 8 or 9 dpo today. I found it fairly easy to forget about it last week but it's starting to creep into the front of my mind again now it's getting closer to the end. Just trying to keep busy. Im gonna try and hold off POAS until the end of the week.

The closer it gets, the more difficult it is! Fingers crossed that the days start passing much quicker.

How are you feeling? Do you have any symptoms yet at all? I feel a bit nauseas and have sore boobs but I always get that after ov and before AF so it's nothing usual.

Hello, here are some advices from my experience and from what I was informed.
Eat to support healthy hormone levels and to nourish a healthy uterine lining.Think fiber to promote healthy estrogen metabolism and digestion. Foods like ground flax seeds, dark leafy green vegetables like kale, collard or beet greens, whole grains and soaked seeds and nuts.I pre-book in some low-key activities that I enjoy – date night, movies with a friend, Saturday afternoon with a good book… Things to look forward to (other than a positive pregnancy test!) to break up the time! I dedicate time each day to focusing on my body, my baby and positive visualizations about how I want things to be. I find spending this time at the start of the day puts my mindset where I need it to be so I can just get on with the day! Women in the two week wait with high expectations. The thing about expectations, they are deeply filled with emotions and when they aren’t met, the floodgates open. This creates a situation in which stress hormones are at a higher level, which is a signal to your body to prevent conception from happening. It is like a siren going off, “Now is not the time to get pregnant, I need to put my focus elsewhere.”
The most common obsessions for women in the two week wait are all about a real lack of patience. Yes, there may be signs of implantation, such as a rising BBT, or some slight spotting, or symptoms of early pregnancy such as nausea, feeling more tired than usual, and cramping. But these symptoms are also very common during the luteal phase, as estrogen drops off, progesterone increases and for some women, PMS kicks in.
The best way to cultivate patience in the two week wait is to be proactive in changing how you think and feel about yourself and your body!

@happybus, I've felt a bit nauseas as well, and I've had a bit of a pain on the left side of my uterus... almost like someone was poking their finger into that area. It was a bit weird. I've also been having mood swings, but that's normal in the time leading up to AF. The nausea is new though, but I can't decide if it's just from work-related stress or not!

@happyandpregnant, thank you so much for the advice! I do have to try and reduce my stress levels... work's not really compatible with that right now, and I think it's making me even more stressed. I'm going to try to lower expectations though. We're only just starting TTC, so the likelihood is soooo low, and I keep on having to remind myself of that.
