DH and I have been trying for over a year now with no success; positive ovulation tests each month, lots of sex, cutting down on booze etc and still nothing.
I bit the bullet and went to the drs this week and had my first set of blood tests. Wand and 2nd blood tests coming up. I'm terrified that I won't be able to conceive and the tests will prove this.

Has anyone got positive stories to cheer me up? Also, what happens next? Do I get referred to a fertility clinic? Does the dr give me results? She didn't really say when I saw her.

Just feeling gutted really, I thought this would be easy and it isn't. I'm 30 so hardly past the point of no return 😔 I guess I'm just looking for a hand hold and some company.

Sending hugs. Don't worry. The tests will determine the next steps. Try not to worry and see what the gp suggests. They might give you some fertility boosting drugs or refer you. Either way it's a step forward. I'm at a year too but I'm not ready to start tests. X

Hi, my husband and I were the same. Tried for a year then started test. Doctor asked lots of questions, took bloods two weeks apart and called me with results. There was an issue with my hormone levels. From there we were referred to the subfertilty clinic at the hospital. I had an internal ultrasound, STD test & husband did a sperm analysis, hospital got doc to repeat bloods at two week interval + one to check prolactin and something else... I forget now. It was concluded I had PCOS with no cysts. We were then prescribed clomid for six months. All in all the whole process took about 5 months from those initial bloods after the year of trying. We were told if the six months of clomid didn't work we would have further tests. Check my tubes etc. We were very lucky and fell pregnant spontaneously the same month we got the go ahead yo start Clomid. Best of luck, it's quite a process but for me it felt so good to start the process. I felt like it was in someone else's hands which reduced my anxiety and most likely helped me relax.
