Trying for first time - periods have stopped

Hello everyone Smile
First time posting here as I would be grateful for some advice.
My husband and I started ttc a year ago. I came off the pill around 18 months ago. After coming off the pill I had a few regular periods (i.e. Every 28 days) but unfortunately in December '16 my periods randomly stopped. I have had three periods since then and am not convinced they were even proper periods (from reading online I think it is unlikely I ovulated as there was about 70-80 days between each one).
I've had a scan and a blood test at the docs, both of which showed nothing untoward. Currently waiting for an appointment with a gynaecologist but 6 month waiting list.
In the meantime - is there anything I can do? Is it possible I could have something like pcos that didn't show up on a scan? For info, my husband and I are both 28.
Thanks for any advice anyone may have. X

Hm. Generally you need polycystic ovaries which show as black spots on the US. With polycystic ovaries pcos is unlikely.

You might have a research of vitex which is also known as chasteberry?? It has been anecdotally connected to helping regulate cycles...

Ttc is frustrating enough...

What blood tests did you have? Where they on any specific days or just random days? I am afraid that with fertility we seem to have to become our own advocates so I'd start keeping track of what tests are run and what the results are so that you can then research and see what they mean. My experience with doctors has not been exceedingly positive with reproductive issues...

Thanks for your reply.
I've just had one blood test and apparently they tested for the 'usual' things, but I have to confess I didn't ask what they were looking for. From speaking to the dr afterwards I know they looked at my thyroid and to see if I was in early menopause but I don't know what else they looked at. The test was just on a random day.
From reading online I see a few people claimed agnus castus helped so I've just started taking that to see if it'll help things along.
It's just so frustrating! My doctor didn't really have a clue but said it might be that my body is still adjusting to coming off the pill, but surely things would be back to normal this far down the line.
It's just so hard not to feel really sad about it.

Vitex = agnus castus!

Many doctors don't have a clue, which is just a symptom of how sexist health care can be.... I suppose it it quite a bit more complex than the male system, but hey ho.

Find out as much info as you can. Become your own advocate. At the end of the day most doctors will just hope it sorts itself out and you fall pregnant somehow... mysteriously.

Was it an ultrasound that you had?

It could be pill related. Some women experience their ovaries 'going to sleep' or similar after stopping the pill, but I think that is the rare exception (but someone has to be the exception). I hope you get answers?

Ah, I see!! Let's hope it does the job.
I know, the doctor didn't seem too concerned and said I'll probably be pregnant next time she sees me!!
Yes it was a vaginal ultrasound. I obviously didn't want there to be anything wrong but it was really confusing that everything looked fine.
I do hope it's pill related as hopefully that will mean it will sort out itself out.
Thanks for the advice. It seems everyone in my life gets pregnant as soon as they start trying so it can all feel a bit isolating.
