Hi,

May sound stupid asking this but I'm just curious, has anyone ever had where they get a positive pregnancy test quite faint but then it doesn't get any darker

Yes I didn't get a dark line till I was nearly 8/9 weeks. It's actually the test brand most
Of the time and I wouldn't be taking tests to watch the line get darker as this means nothing x

user1499631740 · 03/08/2017 08:05

It's driving me mad coz I've used 2 different cheap tests every morning, there's definitely 2 lines on both but not getting any darker x

@2furbabies what brand of tests did you use

Haha it's more of a question of what ones didn't I use 😂

But the light ones were internet cheapies. Boots own brand. Pound shop and super drug own

I even got a negative on a first response! I did a digital though and it was positive which is really odd because they aren't as sensitive!

user1499631740 · 04/08/2017 06:24

I've been using internet cheapie and used boots too, I might buy an early detection clear blue.

I've done another one this morning and I'm positive there's a line I feel like I'm going crazy

I can't see anything at all I'm afraid.

dowhatyouwish · 04/08/2017 07:23

How many days late are you now?

user1499631740 · 04/08/2017 08:37

I did bleed around the time I was due on my period however it was so light and only on for 2 days it's wasn't anything like my normal period. In person there's definitely something on the test but can't pick it up with my camera

Oh that's strange. I would keep testing then as it sounds like you are late unless that was a period but just a light and quick one.

emvy · 04/08/2017 09:14

I can't see a second line on those tests I'm afraid and a frer showing as bfn concerns me... are you sure they're not control lines? Have you tried a digital test? I found that when my tests were pathetic and faint with my last pregnancy, I held out for 4 days without testing again and then when I tested that time, weirdly with afternoon wee, it was a lovely dark line. I also showed later on a test with my first pregnancy, too. Both unfortunately ended in mc - mmc and then natural, but I don't think the darkness of the tests was an indication of that.

user1499631740 · 04/08/2017 12:07

One of them is definitely positive I can see the pink dye, I've got some cheapies coming in the post so will see

OP posts:
emvy · 04/08/2017 13:54

Yeah I'm not saying they're negative for sure as I know how difficult it is to make them show up in a photo even when they're pretty clear in person! Best of luck x

user1499631740 · 04/08/2017 20:48

@emvy sorry about your mc I didn't read that properly x

Hi User. The only time ive ever had a faint line, which didn't progress to darker, was when i had a chemical pregnancy. Best thing would be to leave it a couple of days and try a FRER. Good luck!

WhyTheHeckMe · 04/08/2017 22:46

Hi, I had this too. Don't like to be negative but wish I'd been prepared for the worst. My faint lines never really got much darker (although i did show 2-3 weeks on digi) and then 2 weeks later I miscarried at 6 weeks.
With dc1 which was a health pg I had a dark line from day 1 so I kind of knew this time something wasn't right.
I really hope things work out for you, I heard plenty of happy stories too :-)
