I'm looking for the name of the clinic that specialised in implantation problems that was shown in A Child Against All Odds...

I have a friend in Spain who has just had her last of several failed IVFs. She has said that she has been told that her embryos are very healthy and with good potential for success, that everything goes perfectly OK until the 2nd or third month when she has a miscarriage. Her doctors have not found a reason for the problem.

I remember seeing something in the program "A Child Against All Odds" about a clinic that specialised or were good with cases like this, but I can not remember the name, neither have found the info in the BBC website.

Does anybody remember, by any chance, what the name was or have been to it?

Can't remember the program in detail but ARGC has a decent track record in researching this (albeit sometimes controversially and usually expensively).

Taranissi I think it's the right Dr.

I think that ARGC is currently being investigated by the Human Fertilisation and Embryo Authority (HFEA) for some questionnable practices.

Interesting replies, thank you. I'll have a look at what was said in Panorama and the Clinic's Website (if any available)

I was about to ask if there was anybody around here who has used them but I wouldn't wish to put anyone on the spotlight under the light of the controversy.

But, if you used them and wouldn't mind having a chat with my friend via e-mail, MSN or Mumsnet, would you be so kind of sending me an e-mail? (c h a n d r a m o i at h o t m a i l dot c o dot u k)

Many, many thanks,

Chandra

Many people have stood up for him, after the news article came out there were people on here singing his praises.

Actually I think that the HFEA have had to backpedal a bit re ARGC - was reported to the Today program earlier this week. Many of the reported infringements hadn't in fact occured. And there were no infringements in respect of patient safety or effective therapy.

There is no doubt that he is "on the edge" in terms of his approach to treatment. Basically his is the clinic of last resort in the UK.

Thanks again, I have passed the info to my friend.
