PCOS & false negatives?

I'm 19 days late, last few months I've been 8/9 days late. Does having PCOS mess around with teat results because of the imbalance of hormones? I have done 4 tests, 1 test looked like it had the faintest of barely there lines. Other 3 negative. I've had lots of period type cramps for a few weeks too.

Hi Smile

I have pcos too. It will not effect your hpt results as this tests for hcg which you only make if you're pregnant, but it effects the hormones you need for ovulation. Irregular periods are a sign that you probably aren't ovulating regularly (not unusual for someone with pcos) are you under a consultant?

Are you saying you're 19 days late as in 33dpo or 19 days "late" for someone with a normal cycle?

I have been trying since 2015. In April I thought I got a positive but actually more likely flooded the test. I had my last period May 13th. My cycles are all over the place, 39-62 days I range from. So I never think I'm late as I never know when to expect it. Felt off colour the last two weeks so on the 12th of June I took a test - negative. Still didn't feel right. My Mum and husband made a few comments about symptoms I was complaining about so took another test on Tue 20th and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant. Having tried for a while I didn't really believe it. Took another this morning 2-3 weeks pregnant. I think my point is if you are so irregular you probably won't know your late as such. I am currently under the sub fertility team to find out if I ovulate. I clearly have done this time but it's more than likely I don't regularly. Wait a few days, test again and speak to your GP or fertility team. They have been great at putting my mind at ease and helping not to get too obsessed over test etc. I honestly think it was starting the testing with them that calmed me down, my stess level dropped the minute I knew we had a plan.

Sorry for the rambling. It is such a stressful thing to deal with when you just want to see a positive. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for your replies, I am 19 days late for a normal cycle ( sorry o don't understand any abrevistions on here lol) I'm not under consultant. Been trying since December. I've been on the bill for 6 years solid, before that I had a child (was a surprise) I havnt a clue how long my cycle actually is. I have an ovulation app on my fone, but that just goes off the norm, not really for PCOS. My docs are pretty useless, I barely visit them, when i do I feel like I have wasted there time. X
