Hi

I had two lots of progesterone bloods taken this month.. Day 21 = 28 day cycle and then I had day 28 = 35 day cycle. My heart shattered earlier when the doctor told me no ovulation had taken place.

But in very confused. My cycles are 31,32,33 never 28 and never 35. They've been 34 once last year.

Have they done them wrong ?

I'm also 5 days late on af bfn this pm but lots of symptoms. I'm feeling worried

Any input would be great

It's very common to be late on an anovulatory cycle.

I would suggest that day 21 (7 days before af due) is ideal, but even if you had it 5 dys before af they would still be able to detect if ovulation had taken place.

But my last blood test was on day 28 for a 35 day cycle. So even tho my cycles are 31,32 or 33 it'd picked up ovulation ?

Yes. It would have. Progesterone levels above 30 are considered ovulation. If it was off be a few days, it wouldn't make a significant enough difference. That combine with the fact that you are now late is indicative of an anovulatory cycle. Most women have them once or twice a year but are only aware when ttc.

Try again next cycle?

Thank you. I'm feeling scared now it could be pcos ! Am I overreacting ?

Possibly? I'm not a doctor. But the last three cycles you had were really regular... you may have more reasons to suspect pcos than the limited info in your post?

Did you come of BC before those four cycles ago?

Sarah1087 · 23/06/2017 21:33

I came off bc March 2016 and it took me 42 days to get a proper period, and they've been fine ever since. It's only since being referred to specialist that I've gone over my cycle. It's making me feel depressed and like a failure and that I'll never have a child of my own. The only positive and it's not really a positive is that I was pregnant in 2012 but lost it at 6 weeks x

I'm not overweight, size 8, don't get spots but I have this cycle, although 3 years ago I was treated for adult acne with roacatine, my sleep pattern isn't great, I am often tired but been fine for last 3 months my nails are brittle but I don't have excessive hair growth etc. I've been googling pcos symptoms which is making myself worse

Stress can cause you to not ovulate. I've been ttc for the same amount of time, so totally understand that feeling of failure!

As you are in the care of specialists, please please listen to them. If they are moving too slow, go private. They know much much more than me! And they will have your exact results in front you them.
