Does this mean I'm not ovulating?

My periods are all over the place..sometimes every 28 days then 29 days then 30 days this month 33 days.
Is that a sign I'm not ovulating?

I think +/- 3-4 days is perfectly normal so no reason for concern just because of the cycle lengths. You could try ovulation tests (internet cheap ones are fine) to see if you're getting a LH surge at the right time. But NB those tests don't guarantee that you're ovulating - if you've been trying to conceive for a while get your GP to do a day 21 progesterone test which would give you a better idea of whether you ovulated on a given cycle. However, you may find you have to do the test a few times as day 21 test is only valid if done less than 7 days before your period arrives, which is harder to predict with irregular cycles!

I've been taking evening primrose oil and that seems to have made them go longer ..maybe it's not connected and I'm just assuming so

That sounds like a reasonably regular cycle to me. Not everyone is like clockwork!

Your length of cycle is not about NOT ovulating but nailing down WHEN you're ovulating (sorry for the obnoxious caps). You can have a period every 28 days, like clockwork and never ovulate. A period does not equal ovulation. But regular periods without ovulating are more common in women my age (mid 40s) who still have regular periods and a lower egg reserve due to age/getting closer to menopause.

I highly recommend Clear Blue's digital ovulation kit. Spend the money. How many times in our lives do we have a baby? Once. Twice. Maybe three times. Don't go cheap. For your own peace of mind Clear Blue's kit is really worth it. You'll know when you're ovulating, when to conceive. Straight forward. No hassle. No angst. None of this 'Am I reading these results right or should I test again?' malarkey. I had my last baby at 42 . That's the last time I used the Clear Blue ovulation kit so it's not too many years ago. I'm sure it's still the best out there.

My periods were crazy in my 20s... 28 days, 36 days, 32 days. After DC1 9age 29) they fell into place like clockwork. Only now at age 45 are they beginning to change a bit but still not much: 36 days, 31 days, but nothing too extreme. Good luck!

Sorry that should read; after DC1 (I was age 29)

I'm 31 now and always worry I've left it too late to start trying for a baby.
I'm reading that much online about fertility lowering when you hit 30 it scares me.

My cycles vary between 28 & 31 days and it's never occured to me to worry about it, that's just my normal.

Agree with the previous poster about Clearblue dual hormone ovulation tests, they are great. Why not work out whether you're ovulating before you start worrying.

As for 31 being too old, pffft. The consultants at my local hospital have seen pregnant women in their fifties. I've conceived 4x since the age of 39, don't believe everything you read in the Daily Fail.
