Conceiving after mirena removal

Was wondering if I could get some advice. No periods during the 4 years my coil was in so have no idea of cycle! Got pregnant with my other two while on the pill so had no previous problems getting pregnant! I now have the coil out 4 weeks but still no sign of my period!! And the pregnancy test I have done is negative. Any ideas what could be going on?!

You might want to move this onto conception, instead of infertility. Hormones can be a funny thing. It is well known that cycles may be irregular after coming off hormonal bc for up to a year...

Hi the OP,

We're just moving this thread over to our conception topic.

I had the mirena out in November and already have 2 children so noticed straightaway my cycles weren't right. I had no changes to my CM, opks were negative and my periods v light. It's taken 5 months to get my cycle back to normal. I had no periods whilst it was in. Now I get EWCM and my period last time was back to normal. I do think it's taken a while for my hormones to regulate.

My experience might be unusual though as the doctor said I should be able to conceive straightaway.

Thanks so much! I only just joined last night and never realised I put on the wrong place and couldn't figger out how to delete! Sorry!

I had my mirena removed when we decided to try for our second child. Be warned that you can be ultra-fertile for a while afterwards - we now have beautiful 19 month old twins! Shock Conceived without much effort within 2 cycles, and those cycles weren't particularly regular.

So unless this is an outcome you'd welcome, or would at least be willing to accept, you might be as well to hold off from TTC for a month or two.

(Fwiw, I adore my twins and would categorically not be willing to give one back, but we live in a house that is too small for us and have to budget quite tightly for a couple of years or more)

I had it out at the end of Jan and am now 7 weeks pregnant so don't worry it will come back pretty fast.
