Hey improbablegirl, I believe Mctufty had a fair few days of flashing smileys before getting her static. Its possible this is a long cycle for you.
I've only used cheap internet opks and got my positive when testing between 2 and 3pm. It is possible to miss your peak because the LH surge just doesn't last that long.
I would suggest you keep dtd and testing for now, just in case. Good luck.

Oh and thanks ladies! Visited a friend I've not seen in about 10months today and going to eat snacks and play board games with my kids this evening. So not really celebrating as such. We'll probably leave that until the 12week scan and know everything's as it should be!!

@mctufty, sorry to hear the witch is back. Good news is you have doubled your luteal phase, next stop 10 days + and it will be a cosy home for 9months.

@theimprobablegirl we don't all have a lh surge which is detectable each month, it doesn't mean you have not OV'd we also do not necessarily ov each month. On the instructions it advises which day to start testing, did you follow this? Maybe you started too early so that it now feels like a long period of testing. I also got my flashy in the morning one day and then the same day I happend to test twice and got my static at about 7pm but could have been much earlier, who knows?! My static was about 14 days before AF is due. Are you tracking via an app at all, I use Ovia which helps.

Keep the faith and keep learning about how your body works as we are all different.

P.s I would expect to see a static any day now........if you are 24 of 34 if the surge is high enough. Dtd from now on until af would be my approach.

I had 4 days of flashing smileys but I think limplettuce had a much longer period of them? Someone on here did anyway! you sound like you've had 8 or 9? That is normal I think based on the leaflet which says 25% of people have 5-9 days and 1% have ten days of flashing smileys. 8% of people don't get the static smiley but this could be because you have a short LH surge. Do you test twice a day? I recommend doing so. It is expensive. Use the Internet cheapies if you like for the second test and when they show a surge go back to your clear blue.

Update (if you can call it that) from me - sorry to be gross but when I took tampon out very little on it. Was some dark blood but it was dry and didn't come out easily. Only tiniest trace on wiping so I'm counting it as spotting not actual AF, especially as my temps are still high, so I'm 8dpo!!! Yay!

I know spotting in the lead up to AF isn't great in terms of your luteal phase but it's better to be spotting 7dpo leading up to AF than to have actual AF, so that's good. So I'm 2 days off my target, which I've set because I heard 10 is considered to be minimum luteal phase required. If I don't make it this month (which seems likely) I have high hopes for next month!

Hmm yes could get expensive twice a day; I need to look into the internet OPK's if this month doesn't work, another flasher today! Might try temping too- this actually is hopefully dc3 but I never had trouble with the first too!

Yes it was me. 8 days of flashing smileys, static on the 9th. BFP but chemical/ early loss. McTufty that is great news. I reckon your cycle will be pretty normal next month.

I've been visiting with an old friend today - we were ttc and pregnant the same time with our DDs. She reminded me that I thought I might be 'superfertile' last time ttc. Everything catches quick, whether or not it's healthy, as I had early losses before and fell v easily with DD within a few months. Hoping that means I'll still catch easily but the next one or so will stick.

We've decided to keep ttc this month. It's been a truly rotten week, but both feel that a CP is just a sign to get a shuffle on.

Pregnant colleague has been truly insensitive this week, really dreadful, which just makes it harder, and we both feel the way forward is to just go for it rather than dwell. So we shall see.

Sorry about your insensitive colleague limp. I'm pleased you feel able to continue this month and have everything crossed it's the one for you and your sticky bean! I am sure you will catch again quickly and have better luck

AF now here with a vengeance and I've realised being 8dpo means a luteal phase of 7 days but hopefully you're right limp that it'll be back to normal by next time. Hopefully I'll ovulate before CD23 this time as well!!!

Really under the weather this month - stinking cold on top of everything else. Pshaw. But yes, keeping my fingers crosed and trying to stay positive.

How is everyone else doing? Did you get a static smiley Improbable? I am not going to start digi opk until a bit later - ov was CD17 last month and I would quite like to spread the pack out a bit longer this month.

What I will do this month is use the expensive clear blues until I get a flashing smiley then every other day but use the Internet cheapies twice a day till they they show an increase, at which point I'll increase use of the digi. I got it off amazon this time where it was cheaper.

Why would it be evap? How long after the test is that photo?

Because I just don't believe it haha?! It was only like 4-5 minutes and an evening wee... I'm going to test again in the morning!

Fair enough to be cautious linzlinz but a line is a line and you don't get evaps with pink as much as with blue! And you definitely have a line
