Try again tomorrow?

McTufty · 06/07/2017 14:09

Do you have a FRER kuba? You're still early yet!

McTufty · 06/07/2017 14:10

I've decided to stop messing around and get these! But I've tested today on CD15, it says no fertility. But is that because it will read the first test as base levels and use that as a benchmark? In other words have I totally messed up by testing too late into my cycle?

ClearBlue Strippers
LimpLettice · 06/07/2017 14:31

When I used them this month it was blank CD8, 9 days of flashing, and everywhere I googled said first day is the baseline, and they then detect rising levels - estrogen for the flashers and LH for the solid. I have read people say blank first day, peak the second so I think all you can do is try. And they apparently learn if you reuse them, so I plan to buy refills when AF rears her nasty head.

LimpLettice · 06/07/2017 14:32

No thats not right. Blank then 8 days, then solid on the 9th coz one was faulty. But seemed to suggest they do use the first as a baseline.

Cherylttcagain · 06/07/2017 17:18

Kuba, be careful with clear blue, I had what looked like a very faint line (even hubby saw it) last month but then AF came. Apparently pink dye tests are the best.
Defo test again :) Good luck!

Oh very nice Mctufty! Hope you find that ovulation day. My Internet cheapie OPK strips came today so I thought I'd do one. There was a faint second line there, so many coming out the other side of ovulation?!
I'm going to keep testing because my app reckons I ovulated on CD24 last month due to the 35 day cycle.

KubaLeebre · 06/07/2017 17:27

Yep, that's what I thought re clearblue, god, I want to be pregnant just to stop the urge to piss on something every 5 mins 🙄

Deep down, I do wonder whether it's going to happen before I manage to get my life stress under control. OH and I have lots going on, and we are neither of us young as we were...

@LinzLinz ouch! Maybe make a wee GP appt? Hope you are ok!

@McTufty good going on the cb tests, I tried them first time this month although not successful I've been more sure if timings now :) good luck on that static smiley. Did you use fmu?

@McTufty Sorry pet I don't chart either! Did you find anyone to help?

@LimpLettice I'd have punched her out. 😂👊 I'm sure she would understand fuk off! 🙊

@KubaLeebre what dpo are you? Defo get a frer!

@Cherylttcagain so tww now? Fingers crossed!!

Had a really busy day so been super distracted. Off to the pub to celebrate nothing other than I've another month of drinking and occasional tipsy cigs to enjoy. Life is too short to be hacked off with my body. Word! 😂

Cherylttcagain · 06/07/2017 20:33

emhw I'd glad you're distracted, so much better then letting yourself stress which ends up messing up your body!

I have no idea where I am. I'm going to say I've just started the tww but I'm going to carry on with the dtd every other day just because last month was a long cycle.

It's possible Kuba, do you have anything that relaxes you that you can go to when you're feeling particularly stressed?

KubaLeebre · 07/07/2017 09:13

BFN on internet cheaply. Only DPO 9, so hoping there's still a chance.

OP posts:
LimpLettice · 07/07/2017 10:36

Kuba thats dead early still, definitely in with a chance. I think I am only a couple of days behind you, about 6dpo today. Not going to test til Monday earliest. I feel nothing really this month, unlike last month.

Did you OPK Cheryl?

Haha EMHW I think I might have been thrown off the playground. Silly cow. Mind you, it might be a good thing - I have been repeating 'eat only when hungry' in my head ever since :)

KubaLeebre · 07/07/2017 10:55

I ov'd a week late (thanks, work stress!). Am technically due on today, but I'm hoping that this has pushed the ttw back rather than just completely scuppering my chances!

On a work well-being day today (FUCKING HA!), so at least not having a BFP means I can have a drink after with out curious colleagues judging OH and me (we work together).

OP posts:
KubaLeebre · 07/07/2017 10:55

Nudging, not judging!

OP posts:
LimpLettice · 07/07/2017 11:16

Ha. Ironic from the sounds of it Kuba. What is a Well-Being Day, dare I ask?

I am definitely going indulge in a coupla glasses this evening. It is a tough one, I know a lot of people abstain completely while TTC or in the tww, but I was told firmly by my midwife last time (I had a big night out a few days before BFP and was worried) that nothing passes between mum and baby til a good few weeks in when the placenta is formed. Glad you have some relaxation to look forward to!

McTufty · 07/07/2017 12:42

9dpo is nothing kuba!! You might not have even implanted by then let alone produced HCG! Your luteal phase should be fairly constant whenever you Od so I agree it will shunt af back and won't harm your chances!

limp I agree - drinking in 2ww won't harm baby. Might perhaps reduce chances of successful implantation if you go mad? Don't know. But I'm not abstaining till I et my BFP!!

cheryl every other day shagging can never be a bad thing Smile

emhw hope you enjoyed the drinking session!

More EWCM but still negative OPKs here!! Come out little egg I know you want to!!!

LimpLettice · 07/07/2017 13:12

Not planning on going too mad I have to say, just in case, but this whole thing was meant to be me not putting life on hold or going too mad, and I already seem to be crazy enough.

No idea if it would affect implantation. Trouble is, all advice is geared towards total abstention no matter what and treats women like children instead of allowing us to make informed decisions, so researching any of this is just impossible really. Well, imo of course!

McTufty · 07/07/2017 13:19

Totally agree. I'm lucky that because DH is a doctor and so are lots of his friends I can directly ask. Moderate drinking in 2ww is not a problem seems to be the consensus.

Only reason I personally won't go too mad in 2ww if I ever bloody ovulate is because my hormones are still haywire and I know alcohol can disrupt that. I'm sure for most people it makes no difference, I mean so many people get pregnant unexpectedly and they don't abstain!

LimpLettice · 07/07/2017 14:16

Lucky indeed - that must be really useful. Glad to hear they agree with midwife of yore too. My feeling has always been that the whole alcohol thing is ridiculously over emphasised. As you say, anecdata suggests so many happy and healthy pregancys where mum (including my mum, who had periods and didnt know with me until she was 4 months) had no idea until quite late on. And all the years women were given stout or red wine, but we don't seem to have died out or have millions of us at this age with FAS. I always think as well - do French and Italian women, for example, drink NO wine at all for 9 months?

Orrr, I am just justifying myself. To people on the internet Grin

Cherylttcagain · 07/07/2017 14:20

I agree with Limp and Mctufty, you're still really early Kuba! I'd wait until 2 weeks after ovulation, it's so disheartening getting loads of negative tests so early.

I have some cheapo opk to use and I'll use them for this week just to get the feel of them but use them properly next cycle. I dunno about you ladies but keeping dtd fun especially doing it every other day is hard! I don't think we've ever had so much sex within a month!

Cherylttcagain · 07/07/2017 15:09

opk from today... what the heck?!

ClearBlue Strippers
McTufty · 07/07/2017 15:55

Looks like you're ovulating cheryl! Just in time for the weekend. Get to it Wink

Cherylttcagain · 07/07/2017 16:19

looks like another long cycle for me then. Would you record that as positive then?

McTufty · 07/07/2017 18:19

Second one down is definitely positive. What cycle day are you?

Alternative is some people get a second lh surge just before AF, or if you're far enough along to be pregnant, HCG could be giving the positive result...

Cherylttcagain · 07/07/2017 23:03

I'm cd 20. I thought I saw some cm that looked like snot (but white) this evening to. So I'm not sure, not that it matters, I'll just dtd anyway!!

Last cycle was 35 days and I'd have ovulated around this time. Maybe it's just a long one again.

I did another opk a couple of hrs later and that was positive to.

Cherylttcagain · 08/07/2017 22:39

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend :)
