Hey,

Anyone else out there?

DS is 4 and a half months nearly and we were a little careless this month. Dtd is still tender so it's only been the once but it was about two days before ovulation.

We'll be over the moon if I am pregnant but it feels weird to think of juggling another. 10 days to go until AF is due!

@DoubleCarrick I felt pretty rough until about 11 or 12 weeks but I was actually quite thankful that I was off on mat leave even though I was obviously busy looking after dd. I guess you just get on with it whatever situation you're in but I was glad I didn't have to be up really early, get dd and myself organised and off to work/childcare and then come home after a full day's work and still have to make dinner, do washing etc. It's obviously tiring having a child to look after but for me I was glad of being at home with dd rather than at work.

Wow, congrats! How are you feeling?

DoubleCarrick · 01/06/2017 00:46

Pretty shell shocked to be honest. I don't feel as sick as my previous pregnancy so I can be thankful for that. Last time I was puking even before af was due.

Glad to have a buddy @beekeeper17 we're having a 13 month age gap too!

How are you keeping @DoubleCarrick? Hope all is going well with your pregnancy and your little one.

DoubleCarrick · 22/06/2017 17:37

Hi @beekeeper17! I'd been keeping an eye on this thread to see if you'd return but then stopped as I hadn't heard anything. Then I missed the email to say I'd been tagged in your post!

I'm keeping well thanks. I'm so relieved that this pregnancy seems to be easier than the last. By now I was so dizzy with low blood pressure and was sick multiple times a day as well as feeling constantly queasy! I'm now 8 weeks so time is going quickly! How are you doing? Keeping ok?

Baby is awesome. He's learnt to wave which is so cute and is getting into a good nap routine if you exclude the hot weather disrupting it

Glad you're keeping well @DoubleCarrick! I was feeling quite rough at 8 weeks so sounds like you're doing well! I'm feeling good now, although enjoying dd's nap time so I can put my feet up if I want. Time really is flying by, don't have time to think about it much this time round. I do have moments when I wonder how I'm going to love the new baby as much as I love dd but I'm hoping that that's quite normal.

DoubleCarrick · 24/06/2017 13:13

How far along are you now? You must be around 16 weeks?

I think the thing that's scary is there will be no more quiet nap times unless we can get the babies to nap at the same time!

DS has been exhausted with the heat and the past couple of days has clocked up 6 hours of napping per day! It's been quite a nice break really!

I'm about 19 weeks now. I keep thinking about how I'm going to manage to do things like getting a shower when I have 2, as we're in a good routine at the minute, but I guess we'll just have to work it out. Wow, I bet you're loving the long naps!

DoubleCarrick · 25/06/2017 05:35

19 weeks!! Goes so quickly!

I'm pretty much trying to make the most of chilling out during nap time! We don't have much of a routine so I know that baby number two probably won't line up naps with Ds!

I do worry that I'm ruining a good thing by having a second. This poor baby I'm carrying hasn't felt as much positivity as Ds did. I'm sure they pick up on our feelings so I worry I'm growing a high maintenance/insecure baby because it's picking up on my worry

I'm not really sure about developmental leaps but it does seem that Ds sleeps through them

I know what you mean, i haven't felt as excited about this pregnancy as I was with my first, although I'm very happy about it. I think they're resilient little things though. I went through a period of about a month of severe stress when I was about 6 months pregnant with my first due to a sudden illness in the family, and i don't think it's affected my little one, she's generally quite chilled out!
