Progesterone help avoid a miscarriage?

I’ve had my day 21 results back and my Progesterone is 36 nmol/L

I know that greater than 30 is adequate for ovulation.

But is 36 still a bit low?

I’ve had 2 chemical miscarriages and then did blood tests on the days that I miscarried and my progesterone was only 4 each time.

I understand that progesterone has to be approximately 15 at 5 weeks?

Will extra progesterone help avoid a miscarriage next time?

Sadly it might just delay the inevitable. I was given progesterone to protect my pregnancy when I was having bleeds but miscarried at 16 weeks.
But this is my experience, other MNs may have good news.

I was given progestrone pessaries as a precaution after 3 miscarriages.

The consultant used the words "let's see if it makes a difference".

Fast forward 8 weeks when I got my BFP. I started the progestrone twice a days until 12 weeks. I had two little bleeds and I'm currently 27 weeks.

I don't honestly know if the progestrone helped or not, it may of just been enough to support the pregnancy in those early weeks.

Good luck Flowers

I'm in the same boat!
The doctors reckoned they could only test to see if I ovulated not if my levels were high or low at the 21 day test (Hmm) but I'm sure that's the problem and the reason for my 2 mcs. Will try and get them tested next time i get a bfp and get progesterone then.

I agree that it can delay MC but I think it can save the baby too.....
