Hi starting trying for a second child over a year ago. So far I've had an early miscarriage and an eptopic. Finding it quite a lonely process anyone in a similar boat fancy keeping me company?

Hi everyone, I'm in the same boat. I have a lovely 3 year old daughter and I desperately want her to have a sibling. I had a miscarriage in June last year and another one in January - the second one has been harder to cope with as we had an early scan and saw a heartbeat. I'm still struggling with the loss. I try to convince myself I'm relaxed about everything, but really I think about having another baby all day, every day and how the age gap is getting bigger and bigger. I can't bear to hear about friend's pregnancies and feel ashamed of myself for not being able to share in their joy.

Luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your period. If it's too short the egg has no chance to implant.

user, so sorry about your miscarriages. Must be so hard. I'm also worried about the age gap. I really wanted it to be small as there are six years between me and my brother and we were never close.
Nearly all my nct friends are pregnant which makes it even harder

Hi can I join? 38, been ttc #2 since Sept 2015. Been for blood tests, now booked in for ultrasounds on 5 June. I feel so down about it all, such a failure. I'm so pleased to hear some positive stories on here, congratulations @feelingold! Flowers

Thanks boatrace. How old is your little one? I often wonder about progesterone too and if that was a factor in my miscarriages. Have you had any tests? Unfortunately my GP won't refer me for any unless I have a third miscarriage.

So last month, I got my LH surge on day 24 and my cycle was 35 days long. Is this OK or is that classed as a short phase? x

boatrace30 · 10/05/2017 21:44

mummy, that probably means you ovulated on day 25, making your luteal phase 10 days which is a little short. Mine is usually 8-9, all still possible as eggs take 6-12days to implant. We need them to be quickZ

user I think progesterone can be a factor with miscarriages. I had a lot of bleeding with DD and was classed as a threatened miscarriage until 16weeks. Looking back I wonder if progesterone was low. I only managed to get referred by. Along a fuss, as pcos was diagnosed years ago I have an underlying medical condition which means you can get referred a bit quicker. Honestly the policy on 3 miscarriages is understandable but horrible Sad

Oh and user, I only had a day 21 test which confirmed progesterone was low. GP fairly clueless though and lacking interest so just waiting on the specialist. DD is about to be 2 so not drastic yet but I had been determined to have a two year gap and now know I'm looking at 3+. Lots of her little friends are about to get baby siblings and she is fascinated by babies and I'm convinced she'll be asking for one!!
