V early nausea but neg test?

Have been feeling sick now for a week - CD 23 (although if pregnant would have had to ovulate Cd8-CD11). Neg pregnancy tests so therefore presumed just a bug BUT is it possible to start feeling sick immediately but the pregnany tests to be positive only once the HCG hormone is high enough?

I guess what I am saying is: If the sickness was v early pregnancy related, surely the early nature of it would mean that thes test would be positive? IYSWIM?

I agree, though I imagine it must be very tempting if you are trying to get pg. Even a very early test may show a positive then turn out just to be a 'chemical' pregnancy. It happens a lot but we just dont know because we dont test.

Wait .

I know I know you are all RIGHT.

But I am trying to get pregnant VERY HARD (nearly 39, one DS 20 months and a missed miscarriage in DEcember).

anybody who will indulge me and tell me of their experiences?

no. you are not even close to being late yet. Early testing is utter madness, and I speak as someone who has been ttc for nearly two years.

do not indulge this notion of having early simptoms of pregnancy, because more often than not it can only lead to disappointment.

early testing is highly inaccurate, even the tests that claim to be accurate up to 4 days before period is due ar eonly about 30% accurate so to dest that early is complete madness and is only lining the pockets of the manufacturers who are preying on the desparation of those wanting to get pregnant.

Wait till you're 2/3 days later than your longest cycle, and test again then, and until then put all ideas of early simptoms out of your head.

There was a thread on morning sickness recently where people did say they felt sick immediately as they had conceived. Is that a bit better?

fingers crossed for you.

I have had nausea last few months in week leading up to af. Think I am trying too hard ttc and my body is playing tricks.

I agree with the others, don't test any more. I used to feel nauseous in the week after ov and was convinced that I was pg, but I have since found out that for a week after ov you get a little progesterone surge, which drops off once there is no fertilised egg detected, and it's the progesterone that makes you nauseous. I had never had this kind of nausea before so I was convinced each month it was because i was pg. I'm really sorry to say, but morning sickness doesn't usually kick in until about 6 weeks (there are of course always exceptions)

There's always hope, and don't give up, but my advice, if you want to save yourself a little heartache each month is not to test until you are definitely late!!! I waited until I was 5 days late because I couldn't bear the thought of another negative (tbh I knew I was pg because I'd had really strong implantation pains)

Good luck and fingers crossed xxx

That makes sense MrsMar - and I knmow that I make lots of progestreone as when I mad the m/c one of teh reasons it was missed and I had to have a d&C at 14 weeks (baby having died at about 7) waw that my body was producing so mucb progesterone that it thought it was still pregnant and wouldn't let go of sac.

Hi VictorVictoria
I really sympathise with you. I had a mc at Christmas at 11 weeks. I felt really sick for at lease a week before I tested that time. I have been feeling sick on and off all week, have had 2 neg tests, period was due on Wed. I am not going to test again until at least Monday. In my more lucid moments I accept that I'm probably not pregnant, but then also find myself thinking of all the reasons that I could be. It's a cruel process but I think everyone is right, there is really no point in early testing as tempting as it is. Good luck, hope you get some good news soon.

Hi Vic
I just discovered I'm 5+1 (definite positive test). I had what I thought was a real sickness bug at around the time I must have conceived, no-one else in family got it so now I think maybe it was conception-related. I have a history of multiple miscarriages and at least 1 ectopic so I can empathise with your need to test early. But you can drive yourself mad trying to convince yourself you're pregnant. On the upside, if you've conceived once you can do it again, many many women don't even get that far. Wait til you're overdue then test
Good luck xxx

I'm now in the same boat. I conceived last November(1st attempt), had very bad nausea and vomiting from about a week after ov up to about week 7 of my pregnancy. Sadly I lost the baby at 9+2 weeks.
DH and I have be actively TTC, we started a week after my 1st period after m/c and stopped about a week an a half later (basically was unsure if cycle was still 28 days as it had been before m/c, so wanted to fire as many little swimmers as possible!). I started feeling sick and vomiting about a week ago. I've never had sickness/nausea during my menstrual cycle before. But I think I might have ov'd around CD13-14 as I had the mid cycle back ache I tend to get every menstrual cycle.
I tested today, assuming I'm 2 days late and it was negative.
I'll leave it another couple of days, I've had a brown discharge on and off since friday, very very light, just using pantyliners and 50:50 of the time there's nothing (sorry if TMI!). Really don't know what to do, very confused! I did also have a horrid migraine on Friday and much to me utter horror during my first pregnancy, yes you guessed it, I was crippled by horrid migraines. My GP said because I tend to get migraines when I'm premenstrual, the surge of hormones during early pregnancy can also set them off.
Well done if you've made it to the end of this marathon post, I would appreciate any comments you would like to make (including you are delusional, which is what I'm beginning to wonder ). I also hope this info will be of some help to others as well?

OK officially not pregnant as period started. Going to see GP as soon as I can ring up for appointment about the horrible nausea.
