OPK telling me I'm ovulating later than expected?

Okay, so...
This is only DH & I's first month of TTC so I realise that hiccups are bound to happen as a huge part of this journey is getting to know your own body, etc. The thing is, my Ovia app has always been perfect at predicting my periods and so, I figured it would probably be just as good at telling me when I'm ovulating. According to my app, my fertile window was supposed to open on the Thurs 8th and end tomorrow (13th).

I've been using OPKs since Friday 9th and up until today they've all been negative. DH & I DTD both yesterday and the day before and I guess I'm just wondering whether the last two days of DTD will have counted toward anything if I am in fact ovulating today instead? and just how reliable have you found OPKs to be? I'm finding this whole trying to pin point my ovulation day thing so difficult, haha.
What an adventure this is already!
Xx

Sperm can live up to 5 days (average 3 I think) and you ovulate 12-48 hours after positive OPK. Sounds like you have a good chance if DTD before positive. Good luck.

DTD today if you got a positive!! And tomorrow for best chance! Never trust apps, you might not have ovulated at all. There's always that possibility! X

Opks are far more reliable than an app. That said, your fertile period ends the day you ovulate. According to your app that is tomorrow. A positive opk today indicates ovulation within the next 12-72 hours. So your app isn't too far out.
This is your first month. I would ditch the tests and just dtd every other day throughout your cycle. Tests only cause stress that can affect your cycle (and cause you to ovulate late). If you're not pregnant after six months, then consider tests.
