Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

 1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
 2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
 3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
 4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
 5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Oh no Horatio what happened?

1horatio · 01/01/2017 21:04

Had a New Year's Eve party and something went wrong with the catering. So, I was stressed the whole day.

MIL then basically called me fat in front of friends and I went to a toilet to calm down. Only for DH to tell me that I shouldn't sulk. And that I should have told her I was hurt because this would have given her the chance to apologise. Shrug,

So, yeah, not a sexy mood.

LucyLugosi · 01/01/2017 21:09

Hope you're ok Horatio

LucyLugosi · 01/01/2017 21:09

Xmas time with the family can DO ONE, I've had enough!

1horatio · 01/01/2017 21:16

lucy thanks, I am. Just... currently a bit sad and confused, I guess.

I'm so sorry your Christmas was shitty. Are you ok?

SofiePendragon · 01/01/2017 21:29

Oh Horatio that does sound horrid - not surprised you weren't in a sexy mood after all that!

Sorry you're having family issues as well Lucy hope you're OK.

LucyLugosi · 01/01/2017 21:30

It's not even issues, I just want everyone to go away now! Xmas feels like it's lasted months!
Back to real life now please...

SofiePendragon · 01/01/2017 21:35

I'm feeling a bit nervous - I've got a GP appointment tomorrow to get the results of the blood tests I had before Xmas. They sent me a letter (second class snail mail) asking me to make a routine appointment. I'm hoping it can't be too awful or they would have phoned me, but hoping they're not going to tell me I'm menopausal or something.

1horatio · 01/01/2017 21:36

sofie

Fingers crossed. If it was something really bad they would have surely used the 'fast' mail?

1horatio · 01/01/2017 21:37

I love Christmas. We went back home to see my family and it could have lasted for a month imo.

But I don't get New Year's Eve. Has always been horrible or just boring, and MIL makes my teeth hurt.

SofiePendragon · 01/01/2017 21:37

I get what you mean Lucy - sometimes you just want everyone to piss off and give you some space!

SofiePendragon · 01/01/2017 21:42

I've given up having any expectations for New Years Eve. Me and dh cooked steak and chips for dinner last night. DD was asleep by 2030 (very unusual) so we watched a few things on Netflix - was better than some years when I've made big plans!

1horatio · 01/01/2017 22:40

That's so smart, we had this huge party with only vegan food... which was actually tasty 🙈

I mean, I iced on Thursday or Friday (I think?), so it isn't really an issue. I'm very new to this being so determined to get pregnant thing (DD happened a bit more organically).

But still. First MIL wants me to eat more and then that. Sorry, wrong thread to rant. But seriously.

SofiePendragon · 01/01/2017 22:58

If you iced on Thursday or Friday and dtd around that time, skipping last night is unlikely to mean you're out this month. So I would try and relax on that front and find ways to distract yourself during the Twot.

Does your MIL frequently make comments that you find hurtful or was this a one-off?

1horatio · 01/01/2017 23:04

sofie
Thanks :)

I have 2 threads on here about her. I don't like her (anymore) I'm not sure she ever liked me. I know she certainly started to dislike me when I got pregnant with DD. not sure why... she was nice when we got married.

1horatio · 01/01/2017 23:10

But mumsnet is brilliant to rant, so it's ok ;)

kwick · 02/01/2017 06:43

horatio not nice and I would be angry with OH too!!!
MIL sounds not nice!

sofie fx that the results are good (wow your GP works on a bank holiday!)

SofiePendragon · 02/01/2017 09:02

Horatio she sounds like a right cow!

kwick I was surprised too. I knew my surgery do a lot of out of hours for the whole town (even if not registered there), and do routine appointments at the weekend, but I wasn't expecting a routine appointment on a bank holiday!

kwick · 02/01/2017 09:06

Now that is what I call service sofie!!!

SofiePendragon · 02/01/2017 10:52

It was really good service! My progesterone was low on the bloods, but as I was probably in the follicular phase (as still no af or bfp) that's normal. They did another blood test today to check it again, in case I've now moved into the luteal phase. I'm really impressed I've been able to see a GP and a nurse on a bank holiday for a non-emergency!

1horatio · 02/01/2017 12:44

sofie

So, no bad news? Awesome :)!!

And yes, kwick sofie, she's... difficult. I think we're just v v different.

SofiePendragon · 02/01/2017 13:28

Yes - no bad news. Next steps are more blood tests today, ultrasound for me and SA for dh. Then I think we'll be referred to the FC if still not pregnant. Although, we're not eligible for ivf as we have a DD.

No explanation yet as to why I'm on CD87 though Confused

kwick · 02/01/2017 14:10

You are indeed making progress sofie

I had my Beta test = positive but on the low side - so back to test again on friday and my progesterone levels are for once ok!!! The nurse told me not to freak out about the HCG just that the Dr wanted to monitor me. I think it is very encouraging that my progesterone is ok - it never has been before!!

Current with nephew his BFF and SIL in Kidzania - wow this place is amazing!!!!

SofiePendragon · 02/01/2017 16:16

Good work Kwick is the beta test blood hcg? The progesterone level being ok sounds like very good news!

What's Kidzania?

kwick · 02/01/2017 16:58

Yep sofie beta is the HCG test.

Kidzania is this most amazing city where kids can role play different activities - and get paid!!
Their motto:
Work to earn
Save to spend

Wish there had been something like this for me as a child Envy
