How long till you call it secondary infertility?

Any opinions/advice?

I had DD last September, went on the pill after she was born and came off in March as we wanted another reasonably quickly. Stopped breastfeeding then too (nothing to do with conception, just naturally happened that way) Period came back in April, all well and good. Nothing happened... period was a little irregular but settled down in June/July. I had what I'm sure was an early MC in September - period came a couple of days early, then was horrendously heavy, and a lot of pain/nausea/dark mood, but October AF came back fine.

We're having plenty of [insert acronym here], so I don't think that can be the problem. I'm tempted to go to the doctor (it's been 6 months+, and I'm 37), but I'm 110% sure they will just tell me it's too early, my body isn't recovered from the last one (esp given the MC). Which could well be true.

So my question is - how long do you persist in these circumstances before you go to GP/panic/start thinking you might have secondary infertility? DD took no time at all to come along, which from what I can see seems to be a worrying pattern with people who find it hard to conceive second time around...

I waited one year, as I thought the GP would then take it seriously, which she did. I got a referral to a specialist.

I waited a year as I was under 35. They told me to come back in 6 months, and then come back in 6 months again, then I started having tests which all came back clear.
But if you're over 35 I think they start referring when you've been trying for 6 months?

thanks for your replies - I think on balance I might give it a couple more months then bite the bullet and go...
