Starting to think I should test - if so do I do it when I get home or tomorrow morning?

Ive been off the pill since beginning of July.

Had withdrawal bleed, and haven't properly tracked since then other than noting symptoms etc.

Now at beginning of October, and I realise that since 10th July I haven't actually had what I would class as a proper period.

1st off I decide to book a docs appointment as I am starting to worry something is wrong. Next available docs appointment not for 3 weeks.

Then I start to look back over my symptoms...

It looks to me like I possibly ovulated mid August, then 9 days later I had 1 and a half days of extremly light bleeding which I put down to AF turning up and counted it as CD1.

That was 26th August.

Its now 5 and a half weeks after that and no sign of AF which I was expecting to have turned up early this week at the latest.

I have had all sorts of mild cramps really low down on my right hand side which I put down to sign of AF just round the corner, but this has been on and off for 2 weeks now. I am also so exhausted Im falling asleep on sofa or taking myself off to bed at 9:30 each night where I am usually an 11pm kind of person.
The past 4 days ive noticed I am waking up very early before alarm with a need to use the toilet. I assumed I had a UTI so have been trying to flush it out with cranberry.
Last night my back started aching last night as soon as I got home from work. Centralised on my mid right hand side. So bad that I slept on a hot water bottle all night.
I am putting it down to maybe having sat funny at work yesterday.
I've also cried a lot at work in the mornings, to the point colleagues are starting to wonder whats wrong with me. Ive been putting it down to annoying customers getting to me, and thinking it must be PMS.

So I am now starting to put 2 and 2 together and wonder if whether I need to test. Last time I took a test was towards end of August just before I had my 1.5 days of bleeding, and it was obviously negative and with the bleeding I assumed it was AF anyway so hadn't thought any more about it.

Am I just reading into things or does this look like I should be testing?
I have one HPT at home. Do I test as soon as I get home or should I wait until tomorrow morning as I hear you need to test in the morning?

Thanks for reading !

Yes cancel your smear and ask gp about the pregnancy process. Congratulations!

Based on the dates I know, the calculators and I am between 7 - 8 weeks pregnant!

I have a docs appointment on 24th October that I booked previously.

Do i just keep that and wait for the doctor to tell me what I need to do next?

Congrats :) the doc didn't really do anything for me at the first appointment just said congrats, checked I was taking folic acid and referred me to midwives! She didn't even want to test as she said the home tests are just as effective as what they use, but I made her! Enjoy your pregnancy :) Flowers

Difficultyear2015 · 06/10/2016 08:36

So i keep the appointment so that I can be referred to a midwife?

I am a bit worried as I am still registered at doctors where my parents live an hour away so when I go for appointments (not often) I head back home.

I am guessing I may need to register a bit more locally to where I am living now?

Congratulations!! I would ring up the GP today and ask for midwife referral - as you are quite far along to be just finding out, the booking in appointment is usually at around 10 weeks and the scan at 12 and they can take a few weeks to get booked in, so worth getting a jump on it and getting something scheduled.

Ahhh congratulations!!!! Flowers

Thank you all!

I called the docs I had the appointment booked with and explained I am now in a different area and she told me I would need to register at my local doctors and get started on the process there.

She said that as I have thyroid issues I will be monitored closely throughout by consultant endocrinologists, so thats not a bad thing I guess.

I am so excited. My DP has been messaging me lots of lovely things all day and I can hardly concentrate at work. I just want to go home and cuddle him.

We were planning on doing a big holiday next year as things have been difficult over the past year for us and felt we deserved a treat to look forward to but I guess that might not be happening now. I am sure we will do something though.

I told him we had better get cracking and book the wedding! He has said its probably best to wait until after now. haha.

Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy :)
