Hi ,
We have been trc for 6 months now with not even a hint of a bfp ! Have tried almost everything and i was wondering if its even possible to get pregnant naturaly given the fact that we time intercourse well over the 6 months with no success .
Would love to hear some stories of ladies that did concieve after 6 months and what you did differently

garden that's not true. I went to my GP. I'm 28 and I already have a child. After 8 cycles of trying for my second I spoke to my doctor. She ran bloods and I had an ultrasound, both she said to reassure me that nothing is wrong. Both bloods and scan were clear but I'm still not pregnant. I'm glad I went to the GP though, I'm less stressed now.

nicky the thing is, the initial blood/sperm tests only test for a few particular problems (I was just lucky that my problem was one of those). They don't look for all potential problems. You'd need rounds and rounds of tests for that - some very expensive - and even then, some women have all those rounds of tests and still have "unexplained" fertility. Therefore, I would really suggest you don't spend money on blood tests at this stage as they won't actually set your mind at ease anyway even if they all come up clear. Give it more time and then you'll be eligible for the NHS ones anyway. Or you'll be pregnant Smile.

It took us 1 year, I already had the GP appointment made to arrange tests when I got the BFP.

nicky sorry if I offended you I got the wrong end of the stick. But private or otherwise it really is very stressful getting tested, I honestly would recommend holding off for a while yet.

lillybugg you were very lucky. My own GP and the NHS website both say a year before any tests, and many GPs won't refer for testing at all if you already have a child.

I has done initial blood tests and internal ultrasound when i went back to my country for visiting . I would like to have done the hsg test there as well but it wasnt the eight time
In my cycle so i will get that done here privetely.
Its ok garden but for me is more stressfull waiting than getting tests done and i honestly dont want to use nhs at all if i can :p

Took 9 months with DC1. The month we were successful was the month we used the clear blue dual hormone indicator OPKs.

Currently on cycle one of TTC #2. I'm not holding out much hope for it to happen quickly!! But I'm still hoping a little bit :)
