Is a December baby a no go if possible?

Currently trying to conceive DC2. DD will be 4 years this year she is an October birthday.

I ve worked it out that if i fall pregnant this cycle then i will have a due date of 13th December. I will be having a c section which are usually a week before but i know this is not always the case.

Dh is a tradesman and December is a busy month for him.

Would it be awful for a baby to have a December birthday? Im wondering whether it would be best to avoid December?

Any thoughts?

We didnt try last month as my husband has his final exams to qualify as a chartered accountant in November. Lo and behold, that was the month we got our BFP and I am now 7 weeks, EDD is a week after his exam.

Not the best timing but so relieved to finally have a bfp!

And it seems that not stressing about it or actively trying did the trick - maybe you could just see how it goes this month and let your body decide!

DC2 was conceived after three consecutive miscarriages. I didn't really care when his birthday was going to be at that point! He is close to Christmas but he simply spends most of the rest of the year planning his party and present wishes. And asking for stuff because his birthday is so far awayGrin.

I have three December babies! It's busy, but wonderful. I always struggled to conceive and I think I'm only fertile in the spring, much like a rabbit or bird. Grin

What if you skip this month, conceive next month and your baby comes early? DC would be a December baby then anyway.

I was due to have DD in January but she decided to come early and now her birthday is a few days before christmas, you can't really rely on planning it.

If it's meant to be you'll have a bouncing baby in December if you don't want one don't have sex. However you could be due in Jan, Feb or even March and baby could come early!

In my experience planning isn't everything, I've had friends with stillbirths, miscarriages, no children due to infertility you get the picture. In my own experience I 'planned' 4 years between my DCs and definitely a Sept, Oct, Nov birth. In reality we have less than 2 years between them and a summer birth.

My advice is don't over plan.

Life doesn't work like that though, does it? DH and I are both teachers and both September/October babies who thought we had it sussed starting trying in January for our much wanted baby so it would be oldest in its year at school.

Many sad months and tear filled periods later, I would have given anything for a baby born any time of year. I eventually conceived our DD who was born in July. Literally the crappest time in the school calendar. Couldn't have cared less. It was no longer in any way important.

I thought you might be slightly over thinking it but as you say your partner is going to be really busy and if it's a good time for making money and he will be stressed through work (if he's self employed this might make a big difference) and people are more busy and you feel this is a factor then I can see how to me personally that might make me question it too.

My ex sister in law was a Dec baby and one of my close friends is 23rd they both hate it :( I love the idea of the festive season but I guess it's the fact Christmas can take over and they both feel like they dont have the chance to have a proper birthday and people are always too busy.

DD has Mid Jan birthday and it's a nightmare for money after Christmas and it feels like a lifetime to her till she has her next celebration after having two within that short space of time.

I think next time around I would love to be slightly selfish and try to aim it somewhere in the middle but with previous mc's and fertility issues I think we would have to try every month and not miss any chances we had. But if this wasn't an issue I probably would skip a month or two.
