Is waiting before ttc (metaphorically) killing anybody else or is it just me?!

Hi there,

My husband and I have been talking about ttc late this year after I (quite surprisingly) became very bloody last year but I gotta say the wait is killing me! It's all I can think about & I know I should be using this time to knock a few things off the pre-baby list (lose weight, travel etc) but I just want to start ttc now! It's making me quite moody actually. We've got a Baby bucket list holiday planned for November so realistically I know we can't try but I guess it's just getting to me a bit at the moment. Is it just me?

Hello, feel your pain. Getting a lot of pressure from family too doesn't help! Married I'm September and came off pill in October. First period came after 67 days still waiting on another one! Cannot even be bothered POAS as it will be negative!

Like pp, I am getting married in October this year - so we're having to wait to TTC so I can still fit in my dress! Grin

We have decided to ttc from June, as I would be a maximum of four months at that point and it won't interfere with my wedding dress. This would be baby #3 for me, baby #1 for him!

I have the implant in atm, that's coming out in May to give my body a month's breathing space.

Oh we are in a similar boat! Married a year and a half. We just bought our first house, but we have a huge trip planned in July, for which I would rather not be very pregnant. Have negotiated an April TTC with the husband (I low-balled him with March, cause he needs time to get used to certain ideas).

This will (hopefully) result in our first. And now that I know it's coming, I just can't wait! IUD came out in November because it was so painful. I'm secretly hoping I could already be pregnant, as we have not been all that great with our (temporary) birth control situation.

I feel guilty being on TTC threads as we are not actually TTC YET, but I'm just really excited!

Hi all,

I just thought I would add my two cents as someone who was waiting to ttc. I came off the pill in Feb last year. My cycles have settles to either 27 or 28 days but it took 8 months to get to that point. We started ttc in July after a holiday and the wait was awful. I wish I had started tracking my cycles and pre af symptoms before this point as the first few two week waits were just an obsession with symptom spotting! Here we are, into cycle 8 and still not pregnant. This waiting bit is far harder than waiting to ttc. I'm very much a "want something so go get it" person. Even now though I still have doubts. It's normal.
To the person who thinks being 4 months pregnant will not interfere with their wedding dress - think again! I looked huge at 4 months with my first! Even at 4 weeks the bloating can make you look very pregnant!

I'm so broody and waiting for the OH to be ready is as you say, metaphorically killing me! I'm off the pill for other reasons in October 15 and was worried i wasn't ovulating due to the way my periods were so got hold of some OPKs and got a very strong positive last night (the day the tests arrived so no opportunity to do it earlier although i'm on CD13). Luckily my cycles seem to have gone straight back to 28 days but really light and short too hence checking to see if i'm actually ovulating. I know of others who quite a few months down the road are still waiting for their cycles to return so might be worth thinking about stopping those horrible chemical hormones sooner.
How do you get your OH on board with TTC without him freaking?! Am hoping he comes around after his trip away in May! Edging ever closer but worried he'll freak and not be happy about it!
I've been losing weight since not being on the pill as just not hungry an more - used to graze all day. Getting my body and mind ready will stand me in good stead when he's ready so i can pounce!! Grin xx

Took me about a month th pluck up the courage to mention it to dp. I first broached the subject after some drinks and said "I'm really jealous of all these new babies ppl have" it was too subtle he didn't get the hint . So after about a week I text him from work and said when I get to target (slimmingworld) we should have another dexter" he agreed n was really up for the idea phew! At that time I hadn't set a target at fat club but now I have so I've booked to get the coil out. My god its hard work to actually get an appointment to take it out, feels like they are making me wait even longer than I already have to ttc. I need to time it right though cannot get pregnant in may because we already have dexter's birthday in Jan April would make a December baby which is rubbish for them having a bday so close to Christmas. So I have to try really hard to wait til June. 😢who am I kidding, as soon as it's out I'm trying!
