2 chemical/early miscarriages - what tests can be done?

Hi

If anyone has any advice please let me know.

I'm 37, and been TTC for 4 months.

I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks in December 2015 and another early miscarriage at 5 weeks just now.

Has anyone had 2 early miscarriages in a row and then went on to have a baby? I need some positive stories!

Going to see GP this week (hospital told me I could get some tests done).

Has anyone had tests done for recurrent miscarriages?

What tests did you do?

I'm sorry for your losses and hope you're ok. Even early on a miscarriage can be physically and emotionally draining so please look after yourself. Hopefully a positive story for you: in between DS and DD I had 2 early miscarriges at around 5 weeks. I'm not sure exactly what I was tested for by the GP but it showed up a blood clotting disorder (factor v leiden). I put myself on low dose aspirin every day while ttc and was advised to start on clexane injections as soon as I got my bfp. I had an uncomplicated pregnancy and 4 month old DD is currently asleep on me

I am sorry for your losses. I am 35 and have had one EP (5 weeks) and one MMC (7 weeks) in 18 months of TTC, now 17 weeks. I'm still anxious but everything textbook so far- I didn't do anything differently but just tried to chill out. We had a few basic tests done privately (ovarian reserve and scan, vitamin d levels- cost about £100 in total at The Zita West clinic in London) and saw a midwife MC "counsellor" (about £120 for a hour also at Zita West) who was really great. We also met with a genetics specialist for a few underlying concerns (about £350). We spoke to our NHS GP a lot and he was really supportive and we were in the NHS system but it was just a question of getting things done quicker to ease my anxiety and the background is helpful now when talking to consultants. I had two early miscarriages in 5 months, both at 5 (ish) weeks. I was so worried I would never conceive a healthy pregnancy. Currently nursing my 4.5 month old daughter as I type. I had blood tests done on nhs after the second, but they came back normal. Saw a consultant gynaecologist who said it was just one of those things, quite common and that it was more likely bad luck that it had happened twice in a row to me.

It took a full year of ttc before we conceived our daughter btw.
