This is our first month of trying for DB2. I fell pregnant v.fast with DS, so I suppose I might be jumping the mark a bit with this...Basically, my belly feels rather hard and is really kind of sticking out a bit more than normal. I am having similar sort of aches and twinges that I had with DS. I used one of those first predicitor tests, which showed a positive at about the same time in the month with DS and it was negitive. We are skint at the moment and DP will be so annoyed if he know's I've already gone off and done a test. I can't afford to buy another test, but I really want to know!

Has anyone ever had a false negative after testing at the right time?

Yep! I was on a regular cycle but both my pregnancies never showed positive until 8 days after my missed period.

hi,

Have you been to your local family planning, they'll do a test for free....

Also, i bought mine off Ebay. Sounds weird i know but as long as your get the registered ones, they're good. I buy mine off fertilityplan.

Hope that may help a bit.

Thanks for your posts

2boysmacca - I'm hoping the test was just too early, so it's reasuring to hear that your tests took ages to show up.

babylove123 - On your advice I rang up and was kind of fobbed off when they realised I was a 26 year old women looking for a free pregnancy test! I think its more for younger women etc.

If I had the money I would be down Tesco's now buyiying another test, but there so damn expensive. My friend who has moved here from China say's they cost 1p over there!

Basically the lower MIU/ML the test detects, the earlier you can test. BTW clear blue etc usualytest to 25 MIU/ML so these like I used when getting pregnant are a real bargain

Hi tigertum,

They certainly shouldnt have fobbed you off! To be honest, the majority of women are young there because of the free contraception (kinda seen as a cool thing to go to the clinic around here!) but i've seen plenty of people in their 30's plus getting free tests. Mines a drop in one on a Thurs eve and when you go, they out a form in front of you and you tick what you want, ie "contraception, condoms, pregnancy test" etc. If yours is a drop in one, go again because they should see you

Thanks Babylove & Busyalexsmummy

Just gone and bought some uber-cheap tests of ebay. They look quite good actually and are meant to be as sensitive as detecting 10 thingies per thing, if you know what I mean. DP can't begrudge 75p+ £1.50 P&P for five tests so those are winging there way to me. I'm just hoping that they will give me the answer I'm looking for! Or maybe AF will turn up before then and I'll feel like a fool.

Maybe I'll give the familiy planning another go if I use all these up! Which given my frivilous nature and total lack of patience isn't that unlikely I'm ashamed to admit.

Hi Tigertum, glad you've managed to get some, the ones i've used have all come up with the same answer (neg ) but i did use a couple of clearblues incase they werent working and gave exactly the same answer.

Hope they give you the result you want! Dont feel a fool though because there is no need
