Hi everybody heres my story been ttcbaby no 1since sept. I have long cycles typically 42days! been with my partner 12yrs..just had af on monday so am out for this yr ..but positive thinking new year new luck..ne ladies in the same boat want to share support/stories x

Hello everyone. Hopping on unexpectedly from the December bus. After a super long cycle, DP and I decided to stop ttc until after the wedding. However Xmas happened and suddenly felt very disappointed with the situation! Took an OPK and it was positive so must have caught o day! DP and I decided that we'd try one last month after all. So we're back in the running again! Fx!

I'm 4 days post positive opk and the line has been getting fainter every day. I'll keep testing in case there's a second surge but AF is still normally 20 days away!

I guess it may be shorter this month but who knows!? This month could still have been a dud.

When do you all POAS? 6dpo? 9dpo?

An do you count from the + day or take a day off for an est ovulation day?

Implantation happens anywhere 6-12 dpo so the very earliest would be 8 or 9dpo to allow the hcg hormone to start rising (which happens from the point of implantation).

I've posted this before (in the december bus I think) but it shows you why it's pointless to POAS before that point.

Stopped taking my pill 23 Oct, had my first natural period 24 Nov, now... nothing. Excitedly did a test on 30 Dec absolutely convinced I was PG but it was a BFN :-(
Still no AF...

Thanks for that link Celen, I bought a couple of tests today with a vague plan of testing tomorrow at 7 DPO but I will do my very best to hold off for a few more days at least. Maybe...

I don't know if I'm going crazy but I have right pelvic pain and it just doesn't feel like the usual before period cramps. I read that it could possibly be implantation pain?

I am more than likely going insane tho

Did an HPT this morning for sauna reasons. Didn't really need to because my sore boobs have gone again so I know AF is imminent. BFfuckingN. Bah! I'm over to join the Feb bus. Good luck ladies!

toadie, funnily enough I just discovered that one last night!!

Am 8dpo today and that website recommended above recommends against poas until at least 15dpo - which is around when af is due!! Not sure I'll wait that long before testing but I might 'sit on my hands' for another few days!!

Yeah Rememberall, it's great for info but I definitely don't have the will power to take their advice

I'm 14dpo according to me! But 6dpo according to fertility friend app! I've had quite bad AF pains overnight and today but no sign of AF. All a bit strange as i hardly ever get AF pains and AF usually shows her ugly faces first ting in morning. I'll POAS tomorrow if she doesn't come today.

Hang tough until 10dpo rememberall you'll most likely get a accurate result from then on, some women do get BFP's on 8dpo but they'll have had a fast implant, also use a very sensitive test (10MLu) rather than a clear blue one, which actually are not that sensitive (25MLu). Superdrug early response ones are my choice, there's usually on offer as well. I haven't bought any tests for this month as despite my advice I'm a POAS addict
