Hi,
I'm new to Mumsnet, will try not to get long winded. I'm 35, never had a child, been married to my partner for 5 years and we only felt ready to try this year due to various issues with money jobs house etc.

My partner and I started trying in March. I have always had really irregular periods and expected it to take a while to conceive. When I turned 35 this year I went to my GP who then seemed really concerned about my irregular periods and the pain I experience mid-cycle (have always had both, ever since I started my periods) and referred me for an ultrasound and a blood test to check my prog. My progesterone came back low because my irregular period made an appearance later that day, and it was rescheduled - have had it, just waiting for results.

I had my ultrasound a few days ago and the lady who did it was really worried because my womb lining was far thicker than it should be, I had enlarged ovaries, and although there wasn't any visible sign of endo I had what looked like polyps and something that to her looked like a 'very big tumour'. She said I would need a referral to a gyneo because what she was seeing wasn't normal. But law and behold when my GP surgery got the results they said it was 'borderline' and have chosen not to refer me unless my symptoms get worse. Is this normal? This was my first ultrasound (had abdomen and transvaginal) and I'm trying not to google my symptoms but I can't help it and now I'm worried about Cancer on top of all the stress of ttc. Has anyone else had something similar? Would really help if I could read some similar experiences to reassure me at least. Any help would be appreciated :)

I can't help with that issue but you're over 35 and been TTC for over six months so I'd be demanding answers! I'd be very worried too - they are crap at giving out information at times!!

(If there was even a risk of cancer though you'd be back for more tests within two weeks so it's very unlikely - I've had a cancer referral myself)

Thanks Smile . Just to update - GP rang this morning and wants me to go for regular scans to make sure, but is fairly confident it isn't Cancer because I don't have free fluid. They are still concerned about my enlarged ovaries and want to keep an eye on them and my endometrial lining because I'm considered higher risk for both. So am trying to be hopeful and concentrate on ttc and not worry about all of this :D
