Hi could really do with some advice.

Went to see my GP this morning as we having been ttc for 4 months (I am 38) they want me to have a blood test to see if I am ovulating, if I'm not does that mean that I will NEVER conceive?

Thanks rememberallball

That's cleared up a lot for me! Smile

Angel Yeah that's what the hosp told me too about Clomid being less effective when BMI is higher. I suppose this makes sense but it's taken a while to accept as there are so many really big ladies who get pg. Guess they're just lucky. I know losing weight is better in the long run so any future pg will be easier and healthier. Good luck in the 2ww, hope it's good news for you! Same for Pumkin, will keep an eye out for an update on your next test

Bit of an update, just had results from blood test and I am ovulating!! (Thank god!) was just wondering if I had blood test yesterday would they be able to tell if I was pregnant this month?

Good news pumpkin. My appointment was today and the news for me was not good news - AMH levels very low indicates poor egg reserves and quality and that I'm unlikely to conceive naturally. My age is a negative factor so I think we may have to give up trying.

Pumkins2mum · 21/10/2015 15:33

I'm so sorry remember, is there anything you can try from a holistic path?

I think now it's down to Mother Nature and a big dose of miracles as nothing, so far, has been found that can replace egg reserves.

I do have some good friends praying for me to get my miracle!!

Pumkins2mum · 22/10/2015 15:05

Sending you my prayers and positive thoughts Remember, miracles do and can happen.x

Hi Angel Have been off here for a while and just catching up with everything, Have you had the results back yet?

Angeldelight123 · 02/11/2015 18:20

Hi MrsC hope things are going well for you. After feeling very hormonal and reduced to a blubbering wreck at work i got my AF. Gutted!
Can't afford another month of Clomid yet and as result just feeling totally deflated and fed up with the whole farce. Sorry for sounding so negative I know I have only had one round of Clomid and people keep telling me to keep trying but to be honest I think I've had enough. To top it all off a girl at work is now pregnant and I am having to listen to a constant conversation about prams, labour and maternity clothes!

Thanks for listening, any positivity greatly received please Blush

MrsC2013 · 07/11/2015 00:01

Aw I'm so sorry Angel From what I've read, lots of ladies do seem to need a few rounds. That doesn't help though, especially when you've got to find the money for it! It seems even worse that we have to go through the emotional amd physical symptoms and then not conceive. I feel for you! What is your plan now? I personally would try to reduce your BMI in the meantime, as then you'll be ready whatever you decide, whether you save to pay for another round or reduce it enough to get it through the NHS. Of course it depends whether, like you say, you'd be prepared to go through it again. I know what you mean about pg women being around, I'm constantly dealing with my brother in laws wife who is 6 months pg with twins and doesn't even seem that bothered about it! She knows too that I'd do anything to be in her position. I'm trying to move on though and be positive. Things are going well with reducing my BMI, I have a stone to go til I'm at 30, and consultant has promised to prescribe Clomid when I go back in 6 weeks time, as long as weight is off. I know it will be though, as I've lost 2st 3.5lbs so far, Wanting a baby has made me the most determined I've ever been! I know Clomid isn't the be all and end all to getting pg, and ov'ING doesnt guarantee pregnancybut I need to give it a go

MrsC2013 · 07/11/2015 00:03

I hope you two are ok as well Pumkin and Remember Has anything happened with you?

Pumkins2mum · 07/11/2015 21:09

Hi MrsC
After all the tests I got a BFP last week, will be 6 weeks on Tuesday. Really didn't think I woukd be as I'd been quite ill during ovulation so came as a little bit of a shock. Thank you all very much for your support, sending you all lots of baby dust.x

Congratulations Pumkin! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x

Rememberallball · 08/11/2015 13:16

Congratulations, Pumpkin!!

Hi Mrs C, we stopped all opk's etc this month and decided we will simply let Mother Nature do as she pleases. I have started taking B Complex vitamins as someone on here suggested it may improve my AMH levels and (as my GP says) won't do me any harm. He did say I could have my levels checked again to see if they come up with the vitamins but, equally said getting pregnant would show an improvement.

Going by my previous cycles I'm around 7dpo so firmly in my tww and just awaiting the arrival of af!!

Pumkins2mum · 08/11/2015 14:05

Thank you very much MrsC and Rememberall please let me know how you both get on, keeping my fingers crossed for both of you.x
