Hi all,
I really hope you can give me some advice and sorry this is a long post.
My boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive for the last 18 months with no success. I am healthy and have no fertility issues as far as I'm aware but my boyfriend has several health issues. He was born with an immune deficiency and from this has low testosterone levels, growth hormone deficiency, thyroid deficiency and possibly EDS hyper mobility (await diagnosis). He has been on testosterone replacement therapy (Nebido 100mg 3 monthly) for the last 8 years or so. when he was put on this no-one mentioned fertility to him. His GP agreed to a sperm test which was negative for any sperm (Before TRT he said he had low levels of sperm). His GP basically told hime to 'come to terms with this' and offered him no other help.

My GP sent me for a ovulating blood test which is fine and I'm going to have more blood tests soon. She agreed to refer us to the local NHS fertility GP who I hope can help.

My boyfriend is not keen at all to come off the testosterone therapy as it would probably make hime sick and he would lose his energy levels severely (e.g. before try he couldn't walk to the end of the road). I can understand how he feels and therefor hope theres something else that can be done. I have read that people can be put on HCG and along with the TRP but that GPs in the UK won't prescribe this?

We have asked his immunologist yesterday if his immune deficiency could be passed down and he says the risk is insignificant so thats good. We would need to ask about his endocrine problems and also about the hyper mobility too.

His Endocrinologist was less that supportive too and said (months ago) that he would just have to come off the TRT, but wasn't interested in discussing it much (although it may have helped if I attended with him but its very far away and I didn't think the response would have been so unhelpful)

We would ideally like IVF if we could, as long as there was little risk that any of his health conditions could be passed down. I would accept a sperm donor myself but not sure how he would feel. We would happily have just one child and really its my biological clock ticking (Im 32), he's not that bothered. But every time my period come it upsets me so much although I know theres no chance without some help.

Now if anyone has any experience of anything similar or can recommend me some questions to ask as I feel I'm in the dark a little.

Thank you all so much xxx

Is he taking a conception vitamin? My DH is. Heard great things about these for men. Sorry I can't be more of a help! Also, I'd also say even though you think the problem is more with him make sure you are doing the basics, trying to dtd eod and after a positive opk, not just on the day you get a positive opk! Wishing you all the best!
