Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory, who wouldn't?)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Thanks oneyorkshirepud - I may do as its all but disappeared again - driving me crazy!! But it has been bright red and watery so from what I've read implantation is brown - what was yours like? And how long did it last for?

oneyorkshirepud · 12/08/2015 13:22

Hmmm, think mine was brown with a little bit of pink, lasted for 7 days (normal AF length for me, yey). Due to irregular cycles I didn't know when I oved so thought it was implantation bleed. However after dating scan I looked back and this bleed was too late for IB, so think it was 'breakthrough bleed'? As in I still had a 'period' when I was due to have one. This happened in my Mum's pregnancies too.

MrsKittenPie · 12/08/2015 13:30

Thank you. It sounds like mine is just a weird af then - our bodies do play cruel tricks on us sometimes. It seems to be something new every month to confuse me. Congrats on your bfp though!
Dh will be pleased really as it means another few weeks of shagging and I'll be okay once I've got my head around starting cycle again.

jellypi3 · 12/08/2015 13:41

my IB was red and enough for a pad, I was convinced it was AF then convinced it was a chemical pg. Turns out it was just IB/breakthrough bleeding.

lildottie · 12/08/2015 13:42

pie poaic or you'll spend the next two weeks wondering. I have had wierd afs before and poaic and getting g a bfn was enough to stop the crazies and start me focussing on going again rather than the could it be/what if scenarios.

MrsKittenPie · 12/08/2015 13:57

Thanks jelly and lil - I'll do it after work today. Will stop the crazies in my mind either way! What would I do without this thread?! Probably more crying in work toilets Blush, you've stopped me doing that today now Smile

ChatEnOeuf · 12/08/2015 14:05

I always get a breakthrough bleed, usually enough to convince me I'm out for the month...test, Kitten and earn that name!

oneyorkshirepud · 12/08/2015 14:08

Lol Kitten we have all been there crying in the toilets at work. Didn't even make it to the loos this year, just cried in my (private ish) office like a loon. Awkward older male colleague found me, oops. Blush

MrsKittenPie · 12/08/2015 14:30

Thanks chat - it would be good but doubt I will!!
yorkshire - lol - glad it's not just me! my male colleagues would just run off if they saw the tears I reckon!!

FeatheredTail · 12/08/2015 14:39

I cried at the wedding I went to at the weekend. On the lawn. Clutching a glass of champagne. Seeing pregnant friend with bump felt very raw.

Feel much better now though (and luckily pregnant friend didn't see me sobbing)

MrsKittenPie · 12/08/2015 14:52

feathered Flowers - I cry sometimes when I see friend's bumps too - it's bloody hard sometimes. Some of my friends that started ttc after us are actually having the babies now which is hard too.
Glad you're feeling better now though

Wait4nothing · 12/08/2015 14:55

Newbie (if you will accept me) - came off pill early June - casually (him) ttc.
Age: 26 (dh 27)
Cats: 0 (lovely dog though)
Ttc #1: 1 month (found you early!)

I've got a period app which has f-ing flowers during fertile time. We have had a lot more sex than normal (was weekly or less/now eod or more) much more up for it since coming off the pill!
Af expected 21st but off on holiday (to continue shagging and 'forgetting' about ttc)

Mermaid36 · 12/08/2015 15:07

Out of interest....who have you all told about ttc (except for all the viroids here)?

lildottie · 12/08/2015 15:27

Hi wait, welcome. download fertility friend and get rid of the hearts and flowers shit! gx for a holiday bfp for you

lildottie · 12/08/2015 15:28

mermaid I've told more ppl as time has gone on. at least 3 of my close friends plus DM know about ttc/ivf/mc plus a few more not close friends and even a few strangers to shut them the fuck up.

FeatheredTail · 12/08/2015 16:05

Didn't tell anyone Mermaid - then I had the mc so told lots of people. I had three close friends announce their pregnancies the day/day after my mc, so felt I had to let them know so they didn't think I was being randomly weepy or cool towards them.

Didn't tell DM as she'd have been lovely but overbearingly so.

jellypi3 · 12/08/2015 16:33

welcome wait :) :)

ChatEnOeuf · 12/08/2015 16:33

Welcome Wait! Ditch the flowers and baby dust, JS is all you need Grin

Mermaid I think everyone I speak to half regularly knows I want another. But having miscarried twice last year and then having DS stillborn this year my friends would expect me to either sell the cot and pushchair or TTC and the former's not happened...

Mermaid36 · 12/08/2015 17:57

I'm a stem cell and lymphocyte donor for my sister, so had to tell Mum and sister we were TTC to make sure we could bank a donation before I get pregnant; as I can't donate when pregnant.

Surprisingly, both mother and sister have been fine and not pestering. Mind you, DH and I have been together for 17 years, so people have stopped asking the question of when we're going to have a baby.

Our best friends know, and we've both told a very select group of our own friends each at work (my work husband and a couple of the girls know for example)

Tinkfromlovejoy · 12/08/2015 18:17

Welcome wait Smile

I concur with the others pie poaic and get your head straight. Gx for you.

feathered onwards and upwards my lovely.

Had a slight oopsie this afternoon. Got out my letter for what I thought was the radiography dept to take with me for my app and dildo cam is actually in a couple of weeks. Today's app was for the endo which I thought had been cancelled. Went anyway and met a new endo who was lovely and went through all of my bloods with me (I is perfect!) and generally made me feel much less broken and useless. As far as she can figure out I have nothing wrong with me. However, she has prescribed me with hmetformin again because it won't hurt and I asked for it. Can't say fairer than that. I'd read a study that said patients taking metformin have x% greater chance of conception than those without (can't remember figures) and she agreed with this and said my hormone levels are currently all normal so there is no medical basis to prescribe me anymore drugs but in her clinical opinion it won't hurt to try it again. Now I have the ewcm on cd7 so am about to dust off the cape and get at it. Smile

lil and any other experts, my most recent prog level was 45 which is my lowest ever. She said it was fine, any thoughts?

Wait4nothing · 12/08/2015 18:28

Thanks for the welcome everyone and app advice lil.
I've told 2 friends in real life but want to keep it quiet (though everyone is asking when we'll have kids)

ChatEnOeuf · 12/08/2015 18:29

Good news there Tink. Them there oracles will confirm but I think progesterone is good if over 30?

Tinkfromlovejoy · 12/08/2015 18:40

I thought so chat last time it was 65 but I guess if I iced a day or so later this time it would be different. It was one of the cycles I thought were anovulatory so goes to show you never really know what's going on.

MyBlackCat · 12/08/2015 18:41

Hello wait waves

tink my progesterone was 47 and I was told that was fine, anything over 30 indicates ovulation.

DH and I told no one we were ttc, but after mc I told a couple of friends and my mum and dad. Had to ask tell my mum to stop asking for monthly updates recently as it was too much, told her if there was something to know she would know it - hasn't mentioned anything since! DH didn't tell his parents which pisses me off a bit, MIL is forever posting on Facebook about amazing grandchildren (SIL has 2 kids) and I must admit it does hurt. On the other hand they have never mentioned having kids to us, I seem to have managed to convince people that I hate children and that my cat is more than enough responsibility for me Smile

CD 8 for me, hope to get jizz in morning as then away working for few days and won't get back until CD12

tink are we cycle twins Grin? How's the no booze going?

MrsKittenPie · 12/08/2015 19:31

I told a few friends we were ttc way back last summer but they've stopped asking me now as it's been so long, if they do mention it its in a more kind of pitying way so I try to ignore it!
It was a bfn which I expected. I was tempted to crack out a digi I've had forever but then came to my senses!
I've just been into a diy store to pick up something dh wanted and whilst I was chatting to the male assistant about random stuff he said to me was I going to to have any more kids!!!! FFS I can't even go shopping without being quizzed about my lack of ability to get knocked up!!!!
