Birchy, fingers crossed OH will be home tomorrow!!

Southy84 · 23/06/2015 21:29

I think smep is a fab idea birchy I wish I had a better chance with smep, but with dh working away it's not always easy. Thats frustrating about the weekend, hopefully you can get a sneaky bd in Wink

Glad you're doing ok carrot yes you get going Wink I'm cd10 but with my stupidly late OV I don't have to worry just yet (I hope anyway as dh isn't here!)

bananafish81 · 23/06/2015 22:18

Hi all, would love to join too, although like Jellybean I also doubt I’ll be for the July bus as I’m more trying to lay an egg than trying to conceive!

33 yo, ttc #1, cycle 1, CD 9 (although CD 1 wasn’t a proper AF, was a withdrawal bleed from coming off the pill)

I never really had proper periods when not on the pill, and was diagnosed with PCOS when I came off the pill in 2010 to get investigated to find out if there was a reason why (there was)

Like Jellybean I’d prob be better at the bus stop rather than on the bus, but I’m going a bit bonkers symptom spotting to see if there’s any sign of me ovulating at all, rather than aiming to time DTD as such (although if I do see signs I will be jumping on DH and DTD to schedule!!)

I’ve got the CBFM and am tracking temps, although I know that the former can be a bit dodgy for women with PCOS, as we can have several LH rises but not actually ovulate. So unfair - we don’t know IF we ovulate, let alone WHEN, so we’re the ones who really need the help from the gadgets and doodads, yet we’re the ones who they often don’t blimmin work for!

Thanks for having me xx

birchygoo · 23/06/2015 23:40

welcome banana
temping should be able to tell you if you have ovulated. are you using fertility friend?

carrot sounds like you have a lot on at the moment. hope your doing OK.

so got lots of ewcm earlier - most I've ever had! I seem to be getting more and more each month since coming of the pill. nearly a year now!!
I told dh and he did not appreciate it at all Grin Grin so I will share with you lot Wink

bananafish81 · 24/06/2015 08:30

birchygoo yep that's what I'm hoping! I know anovulatory pcos charts can look like the rocky mountains so we shall see! I've been tracking using the Kindara app as it's super simple and elegant but doesn't give you the same features as FF so I plugged in my data (only a week so far!) and will wait and see what turns up - or doesn't! Thanks for having me

CarrotVan · 24/06/2015 08:53

Lots on indeed birchy. It would be madness to apply for a 2 year secondment/promotion wouldn't it?

Bananafish I use kindara and love it! What does FF do differently?

Belle888 · 24/06/2015 12:25

Hi girls hope you don't mind me joining but I have a question which I think may be a bit TMI but I've been watching your thread and you all seem to know what's going on so hopefully you can give me some wisdom! Ok so I stopped taking my pill and counting from the first day of my withdrawal bleed I'm CD30 so I was expecting an AF (my periods have always been very regular before taking the pill) or a BFP! But today I have a fair amount of CM and I know this IS tmi but it's quite large clumps. Now should I take this as a sign of ovulation and my cycle is longer this month or could it be a sign of anything else? Or does it mean nothing at all ? Any advice appreciated! X

CarrotVan · 24/06/2015 15:49

Have you taken a pregnancy test and it's negative?

You can get ovulation test strips - dirt cheap online but you can also get easily in Boots so you can see what's happening

The problem with TTC is absolutely everything can mean absolutely anything (or nothing at all) until you get an actual test result. It's very frustrating

Belle888 · 24/06/2015 16:21

Thanks carrot. I have tried using fertility friend and I have downloaded ovia but it's a bit difficult as I don't know how long my cycle is yet? I assumed it would of gone back to my normal 28 days meaning AF was due last Friday. I hadn't tested as I thought it's bound to just be that my cycles longer but then today when i have been having the CM I wasn't sure if maybe I should do a test?! X

PallasCat · 24/06/2015 16:55

Hello new faces!
Belle don't be alarmed by your cycle not going back to what you were used to before being on the pill. Your symptoms sound just like mine when I came off (Cerelle), including the TMI gloop! FWIW I was also extremely regular pre-pill (like, to the hour regular). I've been off 8 months now and cycles are ranging between 25 to 40 days, which I'm really struggling to get used to!
Since you are at the point where you could expect AF, it's definitely worth taking a test to be sure, though!
FX for you x

Emilygremily · 24/06/2015 17:08

Hi Belle i completely agree with Pallas my cycles used to be spot on to the hour and now they change each month, after the initial bleed my cycle was 28 then it was 36 so i believe this is the average response from coming off of the pill. Do a test to make sure, i did many when AF didn't come for nearly 10 days.

PallasCat · 24/06/2015 17:13

Emily and Belle yes and it's so particularly annoying when you've been used to being like clockwork, that now when you actually want to read into what is happening and when, suddenly you can't! Confused So frustrating!

Emilygremily · 24/06/2015 17:15

It's extremely frustrating trying to figure out what all the different CM are, and when i ovulate etc, i am going to buy some OPKs tomorrow as it is pay day :D.

3Princes99 · 24/06/2015 17:18

I'd do a test Belle and then go from there if it's negative. Thick cm can be a sign of pregnancy but everyone is different. If you don't get a bfp then try a ovulation test. If both negative it will just be a waiting game unfortunately. Keep using the opk's daily till af arrives or till they get darker. Keep us informed. I didn't get I true af with my second, got caught straight away Smile

CarrotVan · 24/06/2015 17:18

Emily - you can get massive packs on Amazon (shop called HomeHealth) for about £7.

Belle - well worth taking a test just in case.

I swear ttc makes my inner control freak even worse

bananafish81 · 24/06/2015 17:21

I'm well jel of you lovely ladies who have even vaguely regular cycles. I have NO idea when AF is due as I've never had even remotely regular periods when not on the pill. Took 9 months for AF to turn up when I came off it a few years ago to get checked out (wanted to know why I'd never really had proper periods. Turns out I'm pcos. As I'm underweight unfortunately losing weight won't help in my case, bummer!). I wouldn't have any clue if I was overdue! Though as I know I ovulate so rarely - if at all - I doubt I'll be getting a bfp until I start on the Clomid in a couple of months!

Just funny how when ttc normally hope AF doesn't turn up....I'm desperate to have a period as it might mean I've laid an egg! Will save up the HPT sticks for the Cbfm until I start the Clomid as I wouldn't know if I should be testing!

Emilygremily · 24/06/2015 17:22

OOOO i will have a look tomorrow and i will order some, Carrot i am a control freak normally but this has just reached a whole new level !! that's why i am here so i don't drive DH insane with my constant chattering.

PallasCat · 24/06/2015 17:29

Banana yup fair point, really nothing to complain about. It's in my nature to obsess about things, and TTC is only enhancing that. Sorry if it was insensitive. FX for you Smile
Good tip Carrot, I shall check those out too!

Belle888 · 24/06/2015 17:33

Thanks girls. I didn't want to do a test because we haven't been overly 'trying' so I didn't expect anything but now I'm just thinking maybe it could be! I think I will hold out until Friday (so I know if I can have some vino at the weekend!) thanks for all the advice it's so helpful chatting in here! X

bananafish81 · 24/06/2015 17:48

Pallascat not at all! Soooo sweet of you but so wasn't intending that to come off as a moan to anyone in particular - was just a bit of a letting off steam in general. If I had been regular I'd be going up the wall too! Wasn't in the least bit insensitive and deffo no case of TTC top trumps of who's being driven batty the most. It's frustrating for us all in different ways. Fx for you - hope there's lots of BFPs to come :-)

CarrotVan · 24/06/2015 19:10

FFS MrVan is feeling tired and rubbish. Dtd unlikely to be on the horizon and I'm expecting to ov at the weekend so need to get going!

MyNameIsSuz · 24/06/2015 19:50

Boo carrot, I had the same problem this month!

I'm due on on Monday and swinging wildly between feeling like I'm about to come on and feeling like I must be pg. I think I'm going to test on Friday!

CarrotVan · 24/06/2015 20:02

Fingers crossed Suz

Good luck Suz!

Is anyone else charting? I've just done my first real full month of putting all the info in and I wondered whether mine looks normal or not?
